   Classic Lyon, he did it for the Panthers and us at stretches too, just the Wings’ other struggles not capitalizing on it.

   The Wings are basically the Sabres except with about 8+ top 5 picks less on the roster, the struggles are 85 % mental. They might finally have gel’ed mentally and Lyon cementing their belief in it. Not unlike Gibson from Dec to Feb. It will be interesting to see if they stay or crumble when they lose three games in a row or not.

   Gibson is more consistent imo, +5 above expected is sustainable, +12 is not (though I guess prime Hasek would have had sustainable numbers like that).

   I think the Wings will make it, but it will be including luck from teams chasing outside of the WC spots losing a fair share of games. They might have to ride Gibson even more given Talbot’s performance yesterday (yes, crappy D / giveaways to blame, but Gibson probably saves 1 or 2 more goals).

   Lyon most likely puts the Sabres in, reminiscient of his season saving Panthers performance.

   Skinner and Pittsburgh will hurt from losing Crosby, hopefully fall outside, giving the Wings one less team to beat for the WC spot.
