I like what I’m hearing that he’s holding firm at a 1st for Risto. If a team wants to make a run and needs a reliable right-handed Dman, make them pay.
The good thing about 2 years ago was Brière got a 1st for Walker. Getting a 1st for Risto would be a huge plus for the season.
You can’t miss the playoffs, pick between 11-16, and not acquire any additional top 64 picks. That would be a terrible season.
We find ourselves 6 points back of a playoff spot, a win on Thursday puts us back within 4 possibly.
Danny in a year of a tight playoff race now is the team we take advantage by getting teams on the edge of contention to overpay.
Honestly given how little we have done with these acquired extra late 1sts/2nds I dont think its a big deal either way.
We wont do shit with it either way.
It’s not really a tough call if the goal is to win the Stanley Cup.
Having a reliable (when uninjured so not so reliable) defenseman, so your team can play meaningful games, to keep developing the players on your roster is worth more than a 2nd I feel like. I don’t think I would be happy with a 2nd for risto personally
