Gonna be the bearer of bad news, but I don’t see Bob being moved to Vegas.

First off, even as a rental that means dealing the ultimate vote of no confidence in Hill. He has 5 more years on his deal and would perceive a Bob trade as a threat. Barring a move in the offseason, trading for Bob would be a short run move that spurns our goalie we signed for the long run. The only way around that is to deal Hill in the trade or in another move, but that then begs the question as to whether or not Florida or some other team would even want Hill.

Secondly, Bob hasn’t played anywhere good enough to believe he’s the solution. He has an .873 SV%, which is better than Hill, but only better because Hill has been awful. Bob is a marginal upgrade at best that requires the team to move assets for.

Finally, they have shown they are willing to move off of “their guy” in net if a better goalie is available. Fleury was the team’s guy until he struggled and Lehner came in while having a strong season in Chicago. If they really have lost faith in Hill, a goalie move is going to be for a good goalie, and right now Bob is *not* a good goalie.

    Doesn’t Bob have a something like a 16 team no-trade list?
