He’s a great story. Undrafted and had to prove himself every step of the way. Holds the nhl record for hits in a season. Beloved by every fan base he’s played for, level and congenial in interviews, I’m glad he got paid. Is it a lot of money for an aging middle six player ? Maybe. But San Jose will be a playoff team during his contract and they will love his style in the postseason.
