Managment made 3 notable trades so far this season

Average reddit user: they’ve done nothing

  2. Sarcastic__

We’re like +5 on Draft Picks since June too. Not perfect, but not terrible. People just like being pre-mad.

  3. DoomGuyYVR

Myers and Sherwood were good trades. Don’t see anyone complaining about that. But there’s a bunch more of our players that need to be gone and traded. Hopefully our GM will be creative and get rid of some big names (Including Pettersson)

Can’t really blame anyone for being like this, the organization is terribly run. Yes they’re finally rebuilding but there’s no guarantee that they will continue to be patient for the next year or two. JR even said he hopes to be in a playoff run next year.

We need at least a few years similar to this one where we accrue assets and draft top end talent. Even if we get 1OA this year it isn’t enough. Until things happen fans have the right to feel a certain way.

Some trades need some breathing room to see how they age.

Plenty people mad at the time about trading a first for Miller or Shinkaruk when he was tearing up the AHL. Who can forget Hodgson and Kassian, which was sort of a draw, neither had particularly amazing careers though Kass was a serviceable depth guy for Edmonton. Give it time fans might even worry that we traded Axel Sandin-Pellikka for Hronek.

Dunno brool, plenty to be pissed about. The abject failure of the organization and the team imploding has a lot of fans justifiably angry.

And let’s be real, this rebuild was a last ditch emergency parachute more or less…

I’m always going to be pissed off they failed so badly.

Trades are the right move, but I probably won’t change my attitude until we succeed at the draft.

This sub is in a constant state of anger and elevated cortisol levels.

  8. PaperMoonShine

Its pretty simple. They need to get value out of their UFAs at the bare minimum. If they cant trade them its a serious knock on management and their ability to successfully steer this org through a rebuild.

ya people forget trades take years to judge. everyone wants instant answers but most of the time you just have to wait and see how it plays out.

  11. Dangerous-Finance-67

    It’s because it’s either a rebuild or it isn’t

Can’t say rebuild and then keep Boeser/Garland/Demko/Petey.

    Simple as that

Trade them. You traded Quin, that means trade all.

  12. Modsrbiased

The sub is starting to sound and feel like the leafs sub. That’s not something you want

A regular episode of Canucks Talk lately lol

Obviously would be nice to get something for Kane and Kampf but hard to say if anyone bites. If so I believe they’ll be last minute trades for teams looking to the bargain bin. Blueger needs to be traded and he shouldn’t be hard to move. And Garland should be a top priority before the deadline or his trade clauses kick in. Other than that everyone else has term. It’d be nice to move them but with the free agent pool being so shallow this year and the salary cap going up, there should be a market to move some guys with term.

  15. MikaelDerp

I’m more in the « TRADE ANYBODY » camp because I need that dopamine hit when I read « … have acquired a 2nd/3rd round pick in exchange for ____ ».

  16. forrunner

What is this comic giving the team any benefit of a doubt when they’ve earned none? The bare minimum is move on at least 2 expiring UFAs and at least one of Garland, Boeser or Debrusk. As of now it looks unlikely that will happen. Every year we’ve been handcuffed at the deadline and until that doesn’t happen I can assume they wont

  17. viperswhip

This is the state of people after years of, well, I won’t say abuse, but let’s say, fugue state the team has put us in.

  18. screechypete

I’ve interacted with a few people in this sub that I’m genuinely concerned for the people in their life. I would hope most of the anger stays here on Reddit and they’re not acting on that anger in real life.
