  1. Soderblom might grow into a great player but as a Wings fan I don't mind the swap Soderblom to get Perron back. Sure he's a big buy but he sure doesn't use his size to his advantage as of yet and the point production is non existent. But our luck after a few seasons he'll find his game and turn out to be another Chara.

  2. So the Pens picked up what is essentially an enforcer. Great. Where do they play him? What line does he disrupt? Right now, they are suffering injuries (and soon, a suspension) in their top six, but you aren't putting him there. The Pens have arguably the best 4th line in the conference, if not the league, so you aren't breaking that up. And the 3rd line has been their kid line, which I suppose he could fit in, but not if he brings no scoring ability.

  3. So this is who Todd McLellan was talking about last week. He was just wasting minutes on the ice zero production.

  4. Pens fan here, while this is our first "deadline" move, but in the last two months, we traded for Chinakov, Girard, and Ilya Soloyov. We weren't expecting much more. Maybe a Skinner move.

  5. If someone can teach Elmer to be more physical he could be an absolute monster. He just doesn't even try to throw his weight around or use his reach to his advantage.

  6. Soderblom is big but that's it, smaller players out hit and out work him for puck possession. I give it a year and he'll be out of the league.

  7. Soderblom has sneaky good hands for someone his size but he hasn't produced. I think he could be a really good player within the next couple years

  8. Perfect deadline move for a guy that likes undersized forward. Got a giant that plays like an undersized forward

  9. Very interesting player but I’m also glad my team didn’t acquire him. We need to use our 3rd to pick Alexander Kharmanov instead.

  10. Soda plays like he’s 5’10” 180lbs. If he can figure out how to use his size he could be something, but hasn’t really gone that way yet.

  11. Soderblom is great along the boards, winning battles. When he's on his game he is capable of maintaining offensive pressure and he has good hands. I feel like Detroit hasn't used him to his fullest potential. They've been using him on the 4th line with Michael Rasmussen as his center. Just an absolute anchor. If the Pens can give him some better support, he should be good for them.

  12. Stevie got back the 3rd rounder that was sent off in the Faulk deal. I am fine with this. I love Elmer but he never established himself and does NOT use his size. Get ready for Meh Pittsburgh.
