    That’s incredibly disappointing.

  2. Dark_Canuck1

That’s fine. No need to trade him just to do it. However, they for sure need to make a lot of moves this summer. Move Risto and Tippett.

  3. AskLater_85

we’re keeping him for the playoffs lol

  4. TheBroccoliSniper

Flyers gonna Flyer. He will get a bad injury before the season ends

  5. GadsenLOD

I refuse to believe a team didn’t offer a 1st+. I don’t care what they say. Look at all the other trades.

  6. upcan845

Get an asset for your injury prone defenseman?

Nope! Gotta stick to an arbitrary price that no one actually wants to pay

  7. Wallace271

To anyone that thinks this is fine, it’s hard to ignore the injury history, very good chance this will be his highest value

  8. Panarin10

Lowkey part of this is by potentially not getting a 2026 pick, and now maybe getting a 2027 or later pick, the MidBuild just got extended.

  9. frankcarp21

His value is at an all time high. Teams would get two playoff runs out of him, he’s playing great, healthy, solid Olympic performance, the market has been great. How they think they will get anything more in the summer is beyond me and Briere has failed this trade deadline by not moving him.

  10. Phillyvegas24

Probably because they waited so long. I’ve seen lesser defenseman go for returns I’d happily get for him

  11. HaMerrIk

We all knew this would happen. Why sell high when you can hold on to a player that’s made of glass and hope to move him next year?

  12. PrawnStar9797

Disappointing but if you don’t get your price, you don’t get your price.

  13. saycheese95

This team is going nowhere anytime soon. I don’t know about the rest of you but I am not okay with mediocrity. Another season down the drain in the murky middle. Fuck this.

  14. Scared-Arachnid6286

People are overreacting. I wanted him traded too, but he’s been injured a ton, and Danny was very open that if they didn’t meet the price, we’ll just hold onto him. It does put Danny on the hot seat to get that price at the draft or the deadline. It’s not the end of the world.

  15. TheRealMitchConnor

So when he gets hurt down the stretch, while we’re not competitive anyway, his value will crash and we’ll move him for a 3rd round pick. Bottom 2nd at best. Awesome.

  16. Exzrian_Artistrana

He’s “not moving” because his asking price was way too high; Danny was trying to get a first round, or equivalent, for him. What GM would do that with how injury-prone he is??

But we send off Dez for a ‘27-7th round 🤦‍♂️

  17. bigcracker

The best news of the deadline, Michkov can finally go back to playing his position.

  18. gorillaphi

If you can’t get a fair price for him then hold on til next season or off season.  Don’t freak out everybody.

  19. fruitysebbles

we all wanted risto traded so obviously it didn’t happen. meanwhile brink wasn’t even in the rumor mill and boom, gone to MN. clearly we need to stop talking about risto and then Danny will trade him when we aren’t looking

  20. ZachB10

I mean it is what it is. He still has another year of term and can be traded in the offseason and can still get a nice return.

  21. rogue_worlds

To all the people saying he couldn’t get a first: Faulk went to detroit for a first and a third.

  22. A_Reasonable_Man_98

His value will never be higher; how is this org so incompetent and why do I still care?

  23. LonesomeHyrax

Ouch. Taryn threw her career away under the assumption he was getting traded out of Philly. Big mistake.

  24. DrathAWESOME

He’s prob gonna get moved during the off season

  25. FlyersFanatic75

What is everyone’s minimum they would have traded Risto for?

  26. Everyoneisaskell

Flyers don’t deserve any benefit of the doubt in any situation. Not sure the last time they made the right decision

  27. RadkoGouda

Meanwhile Faulk and Schenn each just got a 1st + 3rd

We really couldnt have gotten even just a 1st like multiple 4Cs did???

Now his value will be even less come summer.

So we give Dvorak 25 mil and keep Risto instead of sell either for a 1st.

Makes perfect sense for a bad rebuilding team …

  28. Hurricane_28

This organization is so broken and incompetent. And it’s been like this for over a decade now. Can’t believe some people still defend this team.

  29. I really wasn’t expecting him to be moved before the summer. Summer just makes more sense.

  30. Several_Dark_7711

It’s a risk to hold on to him for longer, but if he stays healthy and finishes strong, chances are there’s going to be some team in the playoffs who gets out muscled on defense and they’re going to want a guy like him to get to the next level or whatever Hockey Men say.

I’m disappointed a deal didn’t get done but trades are one thing that Danny does particularly well. He did the same thing with Sarge at the deadline 2 years ago because he didn’t get his price. Then he waited till the following year and got what he wanted, and we are all looking forward to that 2027 first rounder from Toronto. If it took getting creative to get his asking price, then Danny would have done that, much like he did when he traded Walker a couple of years back. In that case he helped out Colorado. If no one was willing to meet his price, and no one was willing to be helped, then so be it.

If folks wanted a fair market value deal, they may as well have asked Chuck to come back and help with that, because that’s all he did. Market value contracts, fair value deals in trades. That’s why he didn’t win any of them except maybe Gudas for Niskanen.

  31. Annual-Ebb-7196

I think teams are scared off him because of the recent injury history. Also Danny probably wanted more than a late first round pick.

Package him with Tippett this summer.

  32. Time and time again, this sub proves to be full of braindead stepfords.

  33. 4for4philly

« Ultimately nobody met our value and he can be moved at the deadline still » – the front office in July

Going nuclear means more upvotes papa

  35. papaieleele

Here is how it is going to go down:

We finish the season 10th from last.

We get the 11th pick because some team jumps us in the lottery.

At the draft, we trade Risto and the 11th to move up to the 7th pick.

We take a guy that is consensus rated at #10.

  36. ScrapmasterFlex

We’ve got him for another year at a reasonable rate, and we did give up a 1st Rd Pick, a 3rd Round Pick, and a young, former 2nd Round Pick for him, so I can understand that.

I find it hard to believe there wasn’t SOME sort of decent offers but I guess I wouldn’t know.

  37. Chiflyer84

Danny Briere is a graduate from the School of Howie Roseman. He’ll shake and bake this off-season.

  38. Frankenreich

Has there been any other players under so much trade speculation over the last three years? They keep asking him if it bothers him and he always says no. That has to be like getting asked
“Does this big you?” “Does this bug you?” “How about now?” “How about now?”
