this deadline was basically what everyone thought. i have been a huge Sweeney clinic for years. he was right the way way he handled this one. do not make a horrible trade just for the sake of making a trade. for the first time in years they have some very good prospects, and a lot of draft capital.

We finally have a little cap space and some draft picks, don't blow it – there's still time before draft to make trades if those franchises want some of our draft picks

Peeke and Arvidsson should be playing for other teams today. Asset management is a GM's most important priority and picks/prospects collected from them could have been used for something bigger come draft time. I really like Peeke but I really don't see how these players fit long term and would be surprised if they aren't playing somewhere else next year. Neither are difference makers to the point that they will drag this Bruins team even into the playoffs, however, would be a great complementary piece for a legit cup contender. Now they likely both walk for free at seasons end… not great assessment management especially with Arvidsson who's had a great bounce back season and you acquired him for a 5th rounder.
Can we please give Charlie the “C” now so we have a solid leadership guy the rest of the season. This three “A’s” on the ice thing is not working anymore.
For all the keyboard GM's out there , if you think a trade for one or two elite players or even a couple seasoned rentals was going to make the Broons a shoe in to win the cup this year you are sadly mistaken. Think back on previous years when management did just that, only to miss and then to have the fan base whine and complain how incompetent our head office was… Think back on last years squad … did you really think we would be as good a team as we are now ?
