1. I don’t understand why you guys want them to squeak into the playoffs just to get cooked by any other team and then we get no draft pick. Send Zacha off and tell the team to pack it up so we get a better pick. The worst case for us was to end the season middle of the pack and that’s exactly where we’re going.

  2. Peeke and Arvidsson should be playing for other teams today. Asset management is a GM's most important priority and picks/prospects collected from them could have been used for something bigger come draft time. I really like Peeke but I really don't see how these players fit long term and would be surprised if they aren't playing somewhere else next year. Neither are difference makers to the point that they will drag this Bruins team even into the playoffs, however, would be a great complementary piece for a legit cup contender. Now they likely both walk for free at seasons end… not great assessment management especially with Arvidsson who's had a great bounce back season and you acquired him for a 5th rounder.

  3. Hagens, what a god. Scoring an average of 60 goals a year, 10 straight Stanley Cups. Hall of Fame. Breaking every record in hockey, goals, assists, points, save percentage, wins. I mean, Hagens is supernatural.

That's pretty much all I hear on Bruins podcasts. Personally I see Hagens as a 3rd line center, might get you 10 to 15 goals a year. His size will betray him. His ceiling is Charley Coil. Assuming he's not a complete bust.

  4. Great show, Court. Sweeney I luv and Sweeney thru a bone to the team and more importantly Sturm for the work he has done with these guys this year.

As to Hagens, I have not been this excited in a very long time. Hagens is a downstate NY kid like McAvoy and they are cut from a different cloth growing up in the Big Apple. They do think Boston is the meca of the hockey world in the states and that is a fact but these kids have lived on the big stage their whole lives and Hagens is going to absolutely embrace it. And honestly, the grit part, this kid is going to have no problem playing on the boards, bumper or anywhere in front of the net and get pounded like Sydney Crosby did and he will give it right back. This kid is going be a NHL star.

  5. Surprise, surprise !
Boston make a trade with their secret squirrel minor league affiliate,
The Vancouver Canucks ! At least they didn’t call up Jake DeBrat. I’d have stroked out. In all seriousness though. I’m actually very happy Sweeney didn’t get itchy and revert back to his old ways and start giving away 1sts like Halloween Candy. I’d have dealt Peeke, personally. I’m guessing what he could have gotten for him wasn’t worth pissing the room off. They’re ahead of schedule. I can’t wait to see what happens with this year’s draft. Great work Court and Low Q!

  6. that was BRUTAL 2nd period.
Korpi didnt play great, but that sure as h*ll was a hoirrible defensive effort in front of him. I don't know if it was NOT getting rest during olympics, but the best players are looking sad. There's no energy from top players. And lack luster effort on offense.

As far as deadline, there really isn't a single deal I would have rather the Bs made, over some other team. I was MUCH happier with NOT giving up future picks, for rentals, or marginal players. The ASKS were out of whack with WORTH.

  7. Nice leafs dig, again! Question: when the B’s beat the leafs in the playoffs do you drive by Steve Dangles house beeping your horn?

  8. Great show! Regardless of if this team makes the playoffs or not, the Bruins need a 1C and a RD before next season. They can't keep holding on to picks and assets and pushing a decision down the road. Pasta and McAvoy are in their prime and the clock is ticking. Since Sweeney chose not to move today at the trade deadline, I can only hope he was sincere in his comments that he's planning to revisit his trade talks during the offseason. What stood out to me was when he said that though nothing came to fruition, that he gained useful information on how other teams view his players and what sort of packages they might be looking for. I think another huge factor for Sweeney was not knowing at this point what pick the Toronto first will end up being. I think he wants to make sure he gets the appropriate value for that pick if he's including that in part of a trade. Hoping the plan is for Sweeney to circle back with a few of these teams and get something done around the time of the Draft. At a minimum, I still expect Poitras and Lohrei to be moved and help Sweeney get what he wants. Ideally, I'm hoping the price will go down a bit and that Thomas will be a Bruin before the start of training camp.

  9. Tbh I enjoyed this deadline
Watching other teams dance around like clowns for rentals was pretty fun to watch

  10. Well if you’re hoping Toronto starts winning a few games the hockey gods say no – they play Tampa tomorrow at their home. More than likely incoming 7th loss lol

  11. BC might not get an at large bid if they lose another game. Bring Hagens up. Team need something

  12. Do you think maybe the players were worried about the trade deadline? AND will now play better from here to the end

  13. "Bedard is playing alone" Yes he is. And it might get worse. Uncle Nick Foligno took his leadership with him to the Wild.

Bedard should come to Boston to play with Fraser Minten

    Good conversation 👍

  14. Pretty simple, they know they are not Stanley Cup contenders and they also know they’re probably two years away from it. There were absolutely no deals to be had so the best deal to make is no deal. Don’t jeopardize the future that you’ve already paid for !!!!

  15. I need more of you two, love it. I’m not mad at Sweeney either, for once. Hold on to that self rental 2nd line and see what happens.

  16. Get Ty Anderson on the pod! He and Fluto are the only Bruins reporters that I have any respect for

  17. Not trading for Garland means they're signing Arvidsson same player and they will sign Arvidsson less AAV & less years makes more sense.

  18. I liked our deadline this year also. Sure another right d could be good, but this isn´t the year. If we get in, nice some playoff experience. If we miss we get better picks.

  19. Im okay with it, peeke should have been gone at least for a 5th, if were not going to sign him, but look at islanders i think they jumped on buying too soon ans it may cost them
