It’s hard. That’s why. It’s hard. Youngest team in the league is going to struggle locking things down.
Thing about doing hard things, gets easier the more you practice.
Patience grasshopper.
Teams can punish aggressive easier than they can passive. If we’re aggressive and it doesn’t work out, there’s more passing lanes and cleaner shots.
Aggressive leads to unforced errors.
Growing pains being the youngest teams in order to fix something u have to make mistakes part of life
It’s one of those things… hopefully short term pain for long term gain.
The bigger question is who is our RD in the pic and who exactly is he covering?
The beauty of man on man where if people lose their man everyone is a chicken without a head
No trust in Monty. They know it is just a question time.
I don’t know why but it was weird to see on the penalty having 1 player chase 2 point men. They also scored there.
This whole team D system is passiveness. It kills me on the PK as well. They give the puck player all the time in the world to pick an option. If every team we play used that strategy our PP would probably be around 75%.
We don’t have the D clearing the front of the net. Also Monty seems to have trouble with shots from a longer distance.
The ducks had scored 13 goals with less than 2 minutes, before that game. The only team with more game-tying goals in that time-frame are the habs with 15.
No lead was safe, especially not 1 goal.
We are bedarded
Newhook était hors position sur ce jeu. Trouba a eu 3 jours ouvrables pour tirer.
We have bad goal tending rn…. it really is not hard to figure out… without bad goaltending we would be fine. Calm down.
A few days ago I posted that we could outright lose 2 games, and lose the rest in O/T or S/O and we could still make the playoffs.
I also said at their pace Toronto would probably lose all but 2 of their remaining games.
Shoulda laid down a big bet!
Je pense qu’ils n’ont peut-être pas confiance aux gardiens et tentent de se placer au centre pour bloquer les tirs de l’enclave?
When I saw the Habs playing passive at the first 6 vs 5 entry zone I screamed « Nooooooooo » in my living room and my kid asked me what’s happening, so I said they gonna score again, we play this passive game at 6 vs 5…when you are 5 play agressive! I finished my sentence and Ducks scored … It was so previsible!
They just can’t play defensivly to hold a lead. They are just dumping it back into the zone and then playing D, thats not it. Just play offense instead, if they could just establish a little cycle, they would not have time to pull their goalie. I have no clue why they give up their momentum like that.
Ya it’s open shot form the point, but that usually stopped when you have that shot visibility. We have to do a bit better job tying up sticks, but most of all our goaltending has to improve. You gotta come up with big stops when they count. Dostal didn’t have a great game, but we could have easily went up 6-4 a few times and he made some great stops. Especially late in the game, your goalie needs to bail you out. OT was the same. Dostal was lights out.
Feels easier to score 6 on 5 this year than previous seasons all accross the board for every 32 teams. I wonder if stats back this eye test. Even for us, we seem to score at will 6 on 5.
