@Canadiens de Montréal

8e fois Samuel Montembeault accorde un but sur le premier tir… Cela fait 25% de ses matchs joués…

On peut supposer que le % est encore plus fou si on regarde les 2-3 premiers clichés :/

He in fact let in the first 2 shots last night. He was simply fortunate that the first one was just barely offside.

  3. vlhube71

Legit wonder if he has some sort of vision issue? Not talking about myopia, but maybe severe astigmatism? Either way, those are treatable but it’s a little sus how long shots always seem to get him.

  4. whyyoutwofour

He’s also tied for most goals in the last minute….makes you wonder when the saves are happening

  5. LoadOk7149

Remember the dude who made a post saying it’s only 20 percent of his games and that it’s not even bad lmfao

  6. Acid_Tribe

I thought he played pretty well last night, some huge saves..

  7. NevyTheChemist

Dude must have ADHD. Doesn’t realize the game has started before the goal horn is blasted

  8. a7xgemzy

Anytime a shot is from far away, my buttcheeks clench. He MUST have vision issues or some sort of eyesight problem to let in that many goals from afar.

  9. pattyG80

Am I the only one who thinks he would clear waivers?

I mean, he is worse at his position than Karl Alzner was at his.

Currently, the Habs are ranked 25th for save pct at .880. The league’s worst Sens are at .870 (Avs are the best at .908). They’re lucky they massively overperforming on offense with the league’s best shooting percentage

At this point no one is pretending he is a viable #1 anymore, just have to rough it out until Fowler develops into a viable goalie and hopefully Dobes gains consistency. Long term Monty has no place on this team IMO.

  13. Montembeault just isnt an NHL starter and I’m getting tired of MTL trying to push him that way. If I had it my way I’d start Dobes for the rest of the season and call Fowler up. Send Sam to Laval for a bit and readjust next season.

  14. Garland68

Didnt Jake Allen let in a lot of first shots as well?

  15. Someguywithfone

what would it take to convince Price to come back and coach both? at this point, I wouldn’t mind giving him a player level contract

  16. antrage

there were some WILD saves he made in the second. I understand the narrative but defense of this team is ass, the defenceman arent ass the system does not work, and at a certain point maybe just blaming ‘execution’ shouldnt be enough

  17. aaronl729

Maybe we shouldn’t allow 2 on 1s in the first minute of the game

  18. Aggressive_Low7995

At least the first one was a good shot. The three other softies, not so much. Don’t want to crap on him but not good enough.

  19. kevlav91

Well he give 1 goal each 8 shots give or take so it isn’t that surprising. He has been complete ass.

  20. ResidentSpirit4220

But I was told this was expected and not bad at all

  21. That_Account6143

So this is what we’re doing this week, bitching about something we’ve known for the past few years.

  22. Sufficient_Reply4344

But he knows which side players shoot and the color of their tape

  23. Honey-Badger

Partly on him but also we do have a defensive issue in that the second goal was due to Monty finding he had 3 ducks coming at him, like they just were allowed to skate right through the Habs D

  24. ValleyBreeze

It was the 6th this season. They mentioned it during the broadcast.

  25. ImAnAfricanCanuck

Honestly guys, don’t overthink it. Markstrom was notorious for doing this for 2 years straight and when he figured it out, he became (temporarily) elite, eventually settling into a higher end starter who periodically struggles.

  26. Uncannyguy1000

Anyone has any hope that he can somehow turn things around? He was solid last season. What changed?

  27. VividGiraffe

That’s actually hilarious. And really, *really* terrible.

  28. The_Disaster_666

He’s channeling Andre ‘Red Light’ Racicot.

  29. puckluck34

First shot of the game, he obviously needs to stop. But Monty is the only reason we made it to OT and took a point out of this game. He made 5-6 phenomenal saves to keep us close.

Its a detail that cam be worked on, the rest of his showing last night was well above average…
