It hurts to say but yes MSL needs to send somebody else instead of Suzuki because they pin the loss of the WHOLE game on Suzuki when it happens…

It feels like we’d score on a lot more breakaways and shootouts if we could elevate the puck on a deke.
It was super obvious that Dostal wasn’t going to let anything in down low last night and I hate that we didn’t adjust.
The only shooter who elevated the puck in that shootout was Demidov and he was the only one to score.

He used to do this datsyuk move where he would flip the puck over the goalie and then just stopped using after like one failed attempt. Felt like it was a great move to build your shootout game on.

Even when you look at Caufield, he’s also pretty 50/50 whenever he’s at shootouts. 1v1s are just too unpredictable, cause of different goalies and the ways they decide to shoot.

Demidov should have the first round he is a rookie and need less pressure. He never scored yet and we all know he has the best hands. Marty messing him up.

Habs have a decent number of guys who I think should do ok in a shootout, therefore we should do a semi-random rotation through everyone as that would also give goalies less predictive power. Going the same guys 1-3 is nonsense, and if a guy hasn’t scored in a while don’t put him back in the top 3 for a handful of games. Suzuki should take a break and I bet when he gets a chance again he may look better. Give me Hutson demidov Slaf one game, demidov caufield Matheson another, dach Hutson Texier another. Idk. It’s a shootout it’s already a crap shoot just mess with the goalies a bit and hope our guys can get it done. Same 1-3 every time makes no sense to me in this format.
