That backhand goal against krapasalo was disgusting on krappy and what the hell was that pass by McAvoy in ot unacceptable
Yeah I don't get that take on the backhander. I get that it was from distance but that's a perfectly placed shot and it wasn't weak. It's not like it was a floater that beat him that had wrist shot velocity and it's on the backhand no one knows where that's going. It was a prayer play and it worked. You can get on Korpi for his rebounds on some of the later goals for sure. But goalies aren't stopping that backhander almost ever.
Aspirot could use a few days off. He’s a rookie, mistakes are going to happen. I think he needs a reset. Plus Harris is fine defensively. This was also the first game that I thought the fourth line was genuinely bad. Jeanot and Kuraly specifically could not get the puck out of their own zone properly at all it was torture to watch

I get that they shouldn’t have been in ot but that was the most blatant interference ever in the history of hockey. I couldn’t imagine fucking up at my job daily like refs do. Not little fuck ups either like catastrophic fuck ups. I’d be fired.

There were a lot of things wrong with this game, but the interference non-call in OT was BS.
Very annoying we have multiple candidates for worst loss of the season that involved 3+ goal leads.

The Bruins have been a below .500 road team all season
Since they’ve come back from the Olympics they have lost all three of their away games
That’s not even mentioning that in the three games they won, in one of them CLB was the better team all game, the PITT game was one where it was 50/50 and the third one they barely won against a decimated Capital team
In two of those three away games they played putrid teams in Philly and Nashville.
Nashville had a fire sale prior to the game and their best player, Ryan O’Reilly didn’t even play
Versus Pittsburgh neither of their two best players were playing in Crosby or Malkin, they were playing a back to back and Boston still couldn’t hold on to beat them despite having a 3 goal lead and being up by a goal late in their period
This isn’t a new thing, it’s who Boston has been all year, a bad road team
When you combine that with the following below it’s mind boggling that the Bruins didn’t at least try selling guys like Peeke and Arvidsson because there is ZERO chance that this Bruins team is beating any actual good NHL teams in any 7 game series come the post season

Jeremy Swayman: Top 5 in Expected Goals Against and Top 10 in just about every meaningful goalie statistic. Considering their xGA and HDCA against and their crap penalty kill, it’s a miracle, I.E. Jeremy Swayman’s play that the Bruins have even put themselves in a potential wild card playoff spot

What did Bruins fans want?
Well, this team isn’t good enough to win anything this year so a good start would have been recognizing this and perhaps selling off pieces that could have helped even in the very near future
Or maybe recognizing this and trying to move pieces to add a Top 6 center or wing or a Top 4 RHD because without those pieces the Bruins as they're constituted today won't ever be a real Cup threat
Instead, Sweeney did nothing and the local media, Bruins Homer Nation and the Don Sweeney Apologist Society are throwing ticker tape parades for the guy….

That was without doubt an unacceptable loss, but to be fair, the bruins have only blown three third period leads this calendar year and all of them went to extra time. The only other multi goal third period lead they’ve blown this entire season was the Tampa game. I don’t see that as a trend.
Announcers in general just can’t stop babbling. “Smith is from Butte, Montana, and passes the puck to Jones who went to school at Oklahoma. Jones passes to Edwards, who likes to BBQ in his spare time…”

Shocked that Mittlestadt couldn't make a play with either of those passes that were closer to his feet than his blade. Goal scorers know how to adjust to get off a scoring chance.
Every recent loss has been predictable in the first 10 minutes of gameplay… poor D zone management/break outs, sloppy connections on transitions; missed passes & pucks just bouncing of stick blades when receiving passes, and one of the most glaring & concerning elements is the group effort…. it seems like half the team is trying their arses off while the other half of the group stands around and waits for the puck to find them. But honestly this is what we get for sitting on our hands at the deadline, we didn't move to improve, or take the opportunity to adjust the roster in anticipation of an off-season re-shuffle. .500 is what they were fine standing behind, and that's exactly what we're going to get. Not that surprising or upsetting when you recognize that fact.

The team looks out of sink. 4th line has been invisible lately. The rest of season should be interesting. I thinking the last game could decide if we make the playoffs.
