If Kampf got a 6th, Blueger surely would’ve gotten more.

  2. PMMeYourCouplets

Gotta keep foundational pieces like Blueger

  3. TrashedLeBlanc

With one of the weakest free agency periods coming up, Blueger is going to get overpaid by any team that picks him up. But will cost the Canucks more because he knows they have nothing behind him except Chytil and the mittens sewn on his sweaters after his 73rd concussion

  4. YolandiFuckinVisser

Does anyone really think this is the first time they lied to us?

  5. Angry_beaver_1867

Like no shit.  Pius sutter all over again. If the goal was to resign him then ink should have been drying on the deal before the trade deadline.

  6. Pro3tag

My guess is the Canucks set a specific price on him and anything below that wasn’t considered an offer

  7. CommanderBadass22

If its 4th or lower id rather just keep him at that point

  8. SexySweetums

Semantics..probably had no offers reflecting the value this FO put on him. If he wants to be here that’s good in my books.

  9. Firestorm238

Yeah, Rick pointed out that it’s not believable that they got offers on Kampf – who’s a less good version of Blueger – and not Blueger himself.

With that being said, if we’re going to be retaining veterans to mentor the new group Blueger is a good option. If we were to say trade Petey at the draft, then Blueger is a good hardworking veteran 3C who we could plug in higher up the line up (as a bad team) and use him to teach good habits to the kids.

Keep in mind that there’s not going to be the abundance of good veteran options on the Free Agency market this year that you’d typically see in a rebuild.

If I understand this correctly Dhali is saying no one thinks they didn’t get no offers but doesn’t have a single source saying they know they got offers. Huge.

  11. _GregTheGreat_

IIRC Allvin explicitly said he had no formal offers for him.

It makes total sense if you understand his spin. Allvin probably set a price (3rd+?) and nobody met that price with an actual ask. There’s a difference between poking around a player and actually making a real offer.

Kampf and Reichel likely had a much lower price, it was probably a case of ‘we’ll take whatever scraps you throw us’.

  12. Hot_Gap_8444

They do not understand the assignment.

We are in so much trouble right now.

  13. CJK_420

Yeah i’m not going to get worked up by not acquiring a 4th or 5th rd pick for him. They’ll probably try to resign him if not then who cares. It’s an absolute nothing burger big picture.

  14. housesoftheholy1

Lol i mean you cant just gut an entire team.

He seems like a great guy to have around the young players. That is probably more valuable than a 3rd or something

  15. NerdPunch

I think it’s probably just a scenario where Blueger was low on teams wish lists. Being injured ~80% of the season doesn’t help.

The more premium checking centres like McCarron, Roy, Laughton, Kadri, Dickinson all moved, and then you’re sort of left with that Blueger/Kampf tier player that teams buy in the bargain bin last minute.

Im not gonna be outraged if Blueger is back next season as a veteran culture carrying 4C (assuming the term makes sense).

  16. If he really wants to be here, Trade him then re-sign in the off season…

  17. EverySecondCountss

This is rage bait, why would you just cherry pick this? I thought you can’t post twitter shit here either?

The offers were probably a 6th. 7th or 5th or something. Rutherford sets his price, and it’s firm. His price was probably a 3rd or 4th and a prospect and nobody paid it, which I understand.

  18. RoboCartmen

I don’t know why Allvin won’t just say “We like Bluegar, we want to sign him, hence we didn’t trade him.” Like I disagree with that decision, but at least I would understand and say to myself “Okay, they just didn’t shop him.” Do they think we are idiots?

  19. I hope for his sake, Blueger signs ANYWHERE else!

  20. PieRat351

If they want to re sign him that’s fine just say that. Telling the media that there were no offers when there probably is just a shitty way to treat an employee

  21. WeVeeReality

Not a fan of Allvin. No leadership. Weak energy. He hid behind Rutherford for his first year as GM. I expect a little bit of lies from executives but obvious lies just make it look like a clown show.

Tired of being the laughing stock of the league under this owner. Even with new kids being drafted will the clown show continue under this owner? It worries me. We just want a hard working team with solid leaders who strive to win a cup without it feeling like a clown show. It’s a lot to ask I guess.

  22. WhenInAaronRome

I’m not gonna get upset over missing out on a 4th or 5th round pick.

Cootes is not ready yet next year, we don’t have young centers knocking at the door (unfortunately).

  23. ThelongNameNo1has

We are such a clown franchise

  24. therealbeef

Gotta keep some veteran leadership. We know Petey and Brock aren’t doing it. I love how Bluegar spoke out after he came back about some of the compete levels in the dressing room. He’s won a cup too, so maybe, just maybe he wants to be here and mentor the young guns we have coming up. Just my speculation is all.

Kane, that’s who we shoulda traded for another 6th rounder. 🤷🏻‍♂️

  25. YVRBeerFan

Is it really worth a 5th? We need some centres. Ep40, Rossi and Bluegar plus a spot for a rookie/AHL trial and error C

  26. ScarvesOnGiraffes

Sat Shah’s been saying he heard they could’ve got a « late pick » similar to what they got for Kampf. End of the day, it’s spilt milk and it’s not worth crying over.

  27. Chance_Account_4338

I couldn’t care less what Taj has to say – find it from a reputable source first and I’ll bite.
