James Mirtle sur le Leaf Report dit que les Leafs vont certainement changer d’entraîneur et que plus cela dure longtemps, plus il est probable qu’ils changent également de directeur général.

Maybe they’ll even lower price tickets . . . Ha yeah right

  3. Ok-Hair8185

Fuck it see what Pete Horachek is up to for the next month and a half.

The gm change should be first if we want to have a proper free agency and draft.

  5. theharps

Lmao imagine going into work knowing you’ll be fired in a few weeks

  6. SOSXrayPichu

Leafs better not win now, keep the tank going to get rid of them both.

  7. Forward-Weather4845

Who cares at this point. Just let them tank until the end of the year. Secure that pick from Boston.

The fact that firing Treliving is not a foregone conclusion at this point is extremely worrisome. This franchise is going to be fucked for a while.

  9. Old-Rhubarb-97

Treliving should have been fired last Friday.

The fact that it even in question now is insane.

This is such lazy reporting. Anyone could make this call come on and if he turns out to be wrong no one’s holding Mirtle accountable

If they let Sullivan or Lalonde interim, they may be lulled into a false sense of security due to a coach firing bump and keep Treliving. At the same time, they could really use extra time vetting candidates because last time they switched things up between the end of play and the draft, it went terribly.

So my idea would be to fire Berube and Tree at the same time ASAP. Pridham interim GM plus interim coach and shut down a few guys so they don’t have the talent to outplay the coach firing bump. Knies is playing hurt and can be shut down, start there.

Hopefully they promote Pridham. Could be the next hidden gem to be a GM, and won’t cost them as much as hiring someone from the old boys club.

  13. y2kobsezzed

does pelley have the balls to get rid of both of them tho? probably not

  14. WadeWilson34

Does this mean they can stop losing

  15. BlastingBegins

Yeah Treliving has only shown he’s not an NHL caliber GM over a span of 12 years, you really have to give it more time

  16. HousingThrowAway1092

The leafs consistently and steadfastly refuse to do the right thing until all other options are exhausted and it’s far too late (refusing to try and move Mitch until the last possible moment and only after his NMC kicked in being the most egregious example). This team is run by morons

  17. XPhazeX

So is that to say management isn’t happy that Tre hasn’t fired Berube?

Otherwise the longer Beribe is employed shouldn’t have any bearing on Tres employment

I don’t understand how Brad Treliving can still have a job after this season. He was brought in to keep the “window” open, yet it feels like he’s rapidly closed it while also squandering a potential rebuild or retool opportunity.

He inherited a strong team that already had limited draft capital and a shallow prospect pool, and somehow managed to turn it into a worse team with virtually no draft capital and an even thinner pipeline of prospects.

It’s hard to quantify, but I genuinely believe many fans have lost hope and the desire to watch this team. I know my own annual spending on games and merchandise has dropped significantly, and I have no intention of spending another dime on them for a while.

Once that financial impact becomes measurable, I suspect Leafs executives will finally make the decision to move on from him.

If history is any lesson at all, then whatever rebuild we are due for will be a long time coming. It took years for Leafs management to commit to a full rebuild after the failed playoff runs in the early 2000s, after they wasted years trying to retool. We are likely in for more of the same here: years spent trying to retool the team around Matthews and Nylander while these guys age out of their prime.

The main problem as I see it is that MLSE does not really need to vie for attendance and money, so they will ride their horses into the ground while continuing to enjoy sell-out games even as they field a lackluster team. Best to buckle up ladies and gents – we’re in for some dark years ahead.

No point in firing him now he’s actually helping the team tank

  21. pikachuda6

The fact that they haven’t fired the GM by now is worrisome. They need to make moves this offseason… not next year.
