Just wanted to counter that center is the position for good skating, skilled guys that can utilize more open ice. Wing is the “grindy” forward position where you’re smashed along the boards and need good size & strength.
That’s why I was convinced that they already had their incumbent RH3C with great defense, skating, & vision in young Savoie.
His faceoff percentage is right at 48% but that’s still literally 48 out of 100 (two more faceoffs lost is negligible), and surely that stat would improve as he gains ‘man-strength’.
If they sign Tuch, the only FA worth a big contract this summer, then Hyman would get bumped down the line-up in a good way. Has poor numbers with Draisaitl so imagine a scoring & defensively responsible third line next year of:
Samanski-Savoie-Hyman
Samanski can take LH faceoffs if it’s an issue and both wingers play a big, stronk, puck protection game to mitigate Savoies size in the middle.
