Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold your horses.
Just last week, we were agreeing that a 2-year extension is the longest term that Boston should consider with Arvidsson.
Now, you’re good with a 3-year extension, all of a sudden?

    C’mon, man.

  2. I love seeing the females represented. I'm not familiar with Lauren, but she is great and I will check her out now. It's just nice seeing women involved in the coverage. I grew up in the 70's and there was no such thing through the whole 20th century. You do a wonderful job bringing us new faces Court. Have you thought of having Bridgett Proulx on? I may have misspelled her name, but she's awesome. I know she is pretty busy too. Anyway, thanks for another informative, fun video.

  3. Elias needs to stay as the third line center just pin mitten to pasta and take the bumps as they come. Centers Mitten(Khusy), Zacha, Elias, and Kurally.

  4. This team is NOT making the playoffs! If Arvdisson is one of your better players, you are screwed! They can't win on the road and they have more road games than home. Take you Homer glasses off

Is this true about Mittelstadt, though?

Last eight games (since Olympics), top-5 B’s in even-strength Fenwick-For %: Minten, Arvidsson, H. Lindholm, Eyssimont, and Mittelstadt.
High-danger chances-for % at even strength: Arvidsson, Mittelstadt, McAvoy, H. Lindholm, Zacha.

I suppose one can make the argument that Mittelstadt is getting carried by Arvidsson and Zacha. Mittelstadt does have a goal plus four assists during that 8-game stretch. That ain’t bad; he is doing something right, right?

  6. 13 wins in a row at home is the only reason we have been able to hang on to our spot. We can't expect them to win every game at home. We HAVE to win some on the road, plain and simple.
While I would love to see them make the playoffs, I wont be crushed if they don't. Consider what our expectations were at the start of the season.
At the start of the season I would have been happy if they just competed every game and while we did have a few stinkers, they have done that I feel.
I like Arvidsson and I think he likes Boston. He works hard. Reward him.
Playoffs or not…stay the course…our future looks brighter and brighter and we did not have to go into some prolonged period of garbage teams.
Loving the man to man defense. Even tho they make mistakes here and there. When we were great at zone defense it was still hard to watch the opponent hang out in your zone for 3 mins straight.
Swayman is our #1 goalie and future #1 but we need to flush Korpisalo and get DiPietro his starts next year.

  7. Elias Lindholm has been & continues to be an albatross at 5×5

He is nothing more than a defensively responsible guy and a faceoff specialist

Beyond that Elias Lindholm is nothing more than a power play merchant as he's next to useless at 5×5

If the Bruins moved him away from Pasta & Geekie he'd probably have maybe, 15-20 points

And the proof is in his stats:

Of the 252 NHL Forwards with 650+ 5×5 minutes

    Elias Lindholm Ranks at 5×5:

    232nd: xGF

    252: Goals

    213th' Primary Assists & Points

    Of Boston's regular 13 Forwards at 5×5

    Elias 5×5 Ranks:

    11th xGF

    12th Goals

    10th Primary Assists

    9th Points

Elias Lindhom is CRAP at 5×5 & he's not a very good offensive player, period

    He isn't an elite skater

He has very limited puck skills

He doesn't have that great of a shot nor does he posses elite or even above average natural goal scoring instincts

Elias Lindholm should be a 3C

He has no businesses playing anywhere near David Pastranak these days

Nor does he have any business playing in a Top 6 offensive role at 5×5 anywhere in their lineup as he just hasn't been good enough to warrant his staying in thst kind of role presently

Zacha & Minten aren't 1Cs either but there's zero doubt both should be playing ahead of Elias Lindholm right now

When James Hagans gets to Boston I'd go with the following forward lines

    Hagans Zacha Pasta

    Geekie Minten Arvidsson

    Khusy Lindholm Middlestadt

    Steeves Esyimont Jeannot

Sit Kuraly as the 13th forward as he kooks gassed

Kuraly is also fairly useless at 5×5 & he's dragging anyone he plays with down

Sturm wouldn't consider those lines but he should

    Until Hagans gets to Boston

    Khusy Zacha Pasta

    Geekie Minten Arvidsson

    Steeves Lindholm Middlestadt

    Jeannot Esyimont Kastelic

  8. Lauren, what are you watching? Geekie is Glen Murray. He's a one dimensional player. He does nothing but score on the power play. Yiu think they are going to the playoffs and could do something. This team is going nowhere

  9. 7:40 I'm a fan that lives out in the Philly area and dont get too many Bruins games but watched the one against the flyers live and tuned in on the national one with the Pens. Mittlestadt honestly looked afraid to shoot the puck. Most bizarre thing I'd ever seen. He'd get the puck with a lane to shoot and just hold it until a defender got in to block then just pass it. The dude hurt to watch in both games, only thing more painful was the defense in both games. Glad I wasn't the only one noticing the guy just doesn't look right on that line.

  10. Lindholm is what he has been for years now. Hes a 3rd line centre that plays defensively responsible but does not drive offensive play. Had the bruins watched more then highlights with Vancouver in the playoffs they would have known this. Yes he can be a benefactor of having Tkachuk and gaudreau or pasta as linemates but was and is never the driver. Hes an average skater, telegraphs his passes and doesnt want the puck on his stick. Its a signing thats going to hurt on the back half with the full nmc given to him. Get him and nutty off the first line, put geeks back up and Minty too, we need more from that first line.

    This is a great point.

When scoring the first goal, this season, the Bruins’ record is: 22-5-2 … (.793 Points %)

When the B’s opponent scores first, the B’s record is: 14-18-4 … (.444 Points %)

The Sturm system definitely (at least with this roster) is predicated on scoring first.

  12. I like kurally I just don’t think he was the right move this season. They should have plugged in a younger player like locmelis.

  13. I think you underestimate the effect that Monty had on this team. His poor coaching has infected this team and will for a few more years. These guys all think that they’re finesse players and they’re not they need to get down and dirty, but they won’t. they need a Dan cherry Claude Julian type of tough love to get the most out of them. Sturm is a rookie coach and he’s getting there, but I don’t think that he’s going to have the gravitas until next year to really put his foot down with some of these guys. Added to that are the poor decisions that Don Sweeney constantly makes. Hopefully this will be Don Sweeney’s Swan song.

  14. I wouldn’t give up a single top end player or prospect for Trocheck. Don’t love the player

  15. All Peeke had to do was play the body and get in Eklund's way. The fact that he tried to poke the puck and use the stick instead…. man… just horrible. It's defense 101. Bush league.

  16. Really enjoyed Lauren as a guest! The B's may sneak into the playoffs, but I feel it's going to be more dependent on how the other teams do. Don't feel with a majority of their games left on the road, that they'll be controlling their fate. I think Lindholm needs to sit for a few games to try and light a fire under him. Bring up Poitras who will definitely bring the effort and energy that is missing from Lindholm right now. Agree that Geekie should be back up on that top line. Can't root for Maine tonight, since my daughter goes to BC! Hagens isn't the answer to the Bruins problems right now and I don't feel expectations are realistic for him. I still think he should start in Providence. Get him playoff experience and getting use to playing a level up. Then in training camp, figure out what line he would be most effective on as a wing and give him time to learn Sturm's system.

  17. Sweeney made a conscious choice to pay E. Lindholm over Marchand. Think about that on a deeper level.

  18. 💯 Kuraly is like a pylon he’s so slow . Put Lindholm with Steves and Middlestadt 4th line , 3rd line Potrias and Jeannot and Kastilic . Top line Minten pasta and khutsty , 2nd Zacha Arvidson and Geekie and if Hagens is up try him with pasta and Minten

  19. Harris on his off side would be better than Peeke. A bunch of sticks taped together would be better than Peeke. It's so bad now (I can't even believe I'm saying this)- Jokiharju would be better than Peeke…!
And, as a native Maine-iac, I am praying to the hockey gods to deliver Hagens to the Bruins Monday morning skate, safe and sound, with the determination to prove to the world how good he is after such an abrupt ending to his college career.

  20. I think people underestimate how appealing the sharks are to new hockey fans. My wife was apathetic to hockey before Heated Rivalry now she sends me Celebrini and "Will Smith Hockey" memes all the time

  21. Words are cheap, we have heard it all year after a bad game. It gets down to how bad do they want it?

  22. You guys touched on it here but Zadorov also did in the postgame media. If the B’s want to make the playoffs, it’s up to them. Last night, pretty much everything went right for them besides their own game. If you’re going to get help around the league it is important to also help yourselves. Anyways, I hope to see Hagens in black and gold soon!!

  23. I don’t think Elias fits into the culture of being a Bruin. You either have to be a consistent point producer or be a physical presence to help your team. Arvidsson isn’t the best skater or skill guy, but finds a way to produce with his gritty style. Sometimes, I don’t even notice Elias is even on the ice. Non-existent.
