Raddysh is going to get a massive payday.

  2. PhillyGarbage93

Idk what you’re talking about. I see a very clear 1C on that list.

Edit: For fucks sake it’s a joke about future hall of famer Claude Giroux.

  3. Core4Sports

With schmaltz gone the only options are to sign Bedard to 20+ million offer sheet

  4. SeesawLimp

It’s almost like becoming a middle of the pack team and praying that elite talent becomes available in FA and chooses your team (probably getting massively overpaid to do so) isn’t a viable building strategy.

  5. Streetkillz13

And this is why I was fine with us re-signing Dvorak. If he hits the open market he and Charlie Coyle are realistically a top 2 centers on the market (throw out Malkin because he is re-signing).

  6. Sleepy_Fish1

I’m thoroughly shocked that teams re-signed their top pending free agents already. 1C and 1D will have to come from… somewhere?

  7. Dark_Canuck1

I think they understand the market is terrible. I expect something big at the draft, because if not, I got no fucking clue where they think the talent is coming from. Aside from Martone, it’s not coming internally.

  8. TwoForHawat

We shouldn’t really be playing around in the UFA market at this stage anyway, unless a true high-end center were available. And that was rare enough ten years ago, it seems like it’s going to be almost unheard of in this era of the rapidly rising salary cap.

Danny might as well book a vacation for July 1st, there’s no need to go after anything besides a backup goalie and maybe a depth skater. Take care of business at the draft and then go down to Sea Isle for a month.

  9. Lethal_Lunacy

Don’t worry guys, our Center is here somewhere and def will be obtained via free agency

Until teams get squeezed by the cap again, the free agent market will look awful (if you want youngish talent). Probably a couple years away from a decent FA class since most teams have the room or flexibility to make their cap work and will extend their talent. This is why trade is really the only immediate option. Drafting takes years to develop.

GMDB will need to get really really creative to find the C and D talent we need. Even offer sheets won’t work for a long while to wrestle young guys away. As soon as a whisper of grumbled star is uttered, GMDB should be ready to deal

Man looking at this makes me feel old as hell

  12. WeddingRegular5640

Bad organizations plan to build via free agency.

  13. slimbusbimbus

High end FA hit the market less and less frequently now because teams know how difficult is is to acquire players of that level. Thats why most teams go through the draft and then once they’ve established a good prospect pool they trade excess players for the final pieces needed to contend

  14. FlyersFanatic75

I wouldn’t be opposed to a couple seasons of Charlie Coyle at the right price.

I think trade wise it would be a good idea to call Minny about Charlie Stramel. Been on a line with Martone all season, they have some nice chemistry and he is a young Center on a win now team, might be a good fit.

  15. Everlovin

We could pick up Perry and lose the cup finals.

  16. Leto1974

None of them fit the Flyers timeline.
Hard pass on all of them

  17. Blursed_Technique

We are going to have quite a few young guys cracking the lineup next season, so I doubt we really dip into FA in a big way before then.

  18. zekeser87

Boone Jenner you are a Philadelphia Flyer

  19. Scared-Arachnid6286

Wdm we can pull in Ovechkin, Kane, Giroux, Malkin, Carlson, Perry, and Kopitar. The cup is ours.

  20. GrittyTheGreat

It’s honestly hilarious that 1-2 years ago Briere and Jones thought they were going to turn this team into a contender via the 2026 UFA Class. You cannot build through Free Agency. You have to DRAFT WELL AND DEVELOP EVEN BETTER.

  21. kbuck30

We need a center and malkin is available? Briere has a chance to do something hilarious. Hate the guy but that would be funny as fuck.

  23. Oldmanrich8

Almost half are at or near retirement

  24. JustTucks

Complaining about a weak free agent class misses how good NHL teams are actually built. Contenders are built through drafting and development first. Then smart GMs reshape the roster with trades. Free agency is usually just the final step – adding a complementary piece once the core is already in place. If you’re depending on free agency to become good, the team building process already failed

  25. obi-jawn-kenblomi

Hi, I’m a time traveler. I’m not sure what year this is but I’m from 2015.

This is a real great list. This free agency class is fucking awesome. Good luck getting your guy!

  26. exemplarytrombonist

We should bring Giroux back because it would make me happy.

  27. diegler74

So delusional for this FO to think they could ever sign top talent. The only way is top of the draft and on those occasions when one becomes available, you need top of the draft capital to trade, not off the board picks like Nesbitt and Jett. Very shortsighted.

  28. Subject-Wave3331

We need to offer sheet Bedard if he isn’t resigned by July. I know it has close to 0% chance of happening, but you have to try. I would also be down to try for Fantilli. Flyers will need to use their own 1sts, so they would still have the Toronto 1st.

  29. Seren05

It’s a good thing we brought in a “players coach” to attract FA talent instead of a coach with a proven track record of winning and/or developing youth.

  30. Concerned_Fanboy

Giroux would still be the best C on this team and he only costs 2 mil.

  31. TSM_Vegeta

Let’s sign a bunch of really old guys. That’s always fun.

  32. TSM_Vegeta

I’ll take Ovi, Malkin, Giroux, and Perry, all for pennies please.

  33. Fraitz73

Sign Malkin and Ovi for short term, they wouldn’t be far from home. Put Malkin at C, Ovi at LW and Michkov at RW for the second line. They mentor Michkov and teach him how to succeed at the NHL level just like Jagr did for Giroux and Voraceck. Kinda kidding but kinda not.

  34. pedro3131

It’s pretty simple. Sign Giroux, Malkin, Kane and Ovi and we win the 2013 Stanley cup. 4d chess people

  35. msivoryishort

Rasmus Andersson is the only name that interests me

  36. _token_black

That’s why you don’t bank on FA to build a team

That we’ve had 2 GMs in a row try this says a lot…

  37. _token_black

If only there was another way to poach young talent off of teams that can’t afford to pay those players yet…

Nah must not be any solution, because surely if something like that existed, teams would use it to punish cap strapped teams. It would be silly for a mechanism like that to exist and teams not use it…

  38. sweatpantsocialist

You guys aren’t excited for Boone Jenner???

  39. Snips_Tano

Our Plan A (with no B) was literally to act like we were the pre salary cap Flyers and address our massive holes that way.

    This organization is beyond stupid

  40. nic_cage_da_elephant

G back to teach Z the way to play C and J all over your Bs

(Also Malkin to be a Russian sensei for Michkov)
