@Canadiens de Montréal

My favourite childhood Hab. He ain’t what he was, but he’ll always be the shining example for how I want guys to play

  2. Substantial-Toe6856

I remember those shit years where most of the fun about watching the habs was him stirring shit and scoring goals

  3. JPMoney81

You guys realize he’s not cut or retiring or anything right? He’s right back in the lineup tomorrow.

  4. ComfortableSell5

    He will retire a hab.

But I don’t think he gets to 1000 games. His body gave out on him. It’s sad, but it’s pro sports.

    Remember the good times.

He’s not gone, he’s just healthy scratched for one game.

  7. Even though I agree with the decision, he will always be one of my favourite Habs of all times and deserves all the appreciation in the world 🔥

  8. stevedavehimself

He’s been a G since Day 1. He’s even still dropping the gloves for the red, white and blue

  9. Cabsmell

Sam Jose is just a really fast young team, gally lags and is doing a huge service to a young kid

It’s great we have this depth for the a playoff run. I’m sure he’ll be back, but it’s probably not a bad thing to give him a lighter load approaching the playoffs.

It’s rare that we have no injuries in the lineup, so even if he’s our 13th or 14th forward now he’ll see time at some point.

Not sure what we do next season, obviously the contract doesn’t match the production anymore, but I still hope we keep him through his contract.

I see him sticking around with the Habs organization in some capacity. Maybe as a coach, or scout.

    My warrior.

I didn’t get into hockey until I was in my mid 20’s and it was because of Gallagher.

I read Jay Baruchel’s book Born Into It and when he writes about Chris Nilan having the CH tattooed on his chest – I think about Brendan Gallagher.

I’m sad that game 84 of the 2026-27 season won’t be his 1,000th

  14. destroyermaker

He’s the reason I got into the habs – that [sequence against the jets](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1aaPMslp9Y) where they kept literally knocking him down and he kept getting back up like it was nothing sold me. Dude was a fucking energizer bunny and has always given it everything he’s got

  15. KeepUpTheFPS

Basu was talking about how the last time he was a healthy scratch was his very first game then went crazy hard next practice then was never healthy scratch again, it’s kind of breaking my heart even if it’s the objectively right thing to do

Top 3 favourite hab ever. Sad to see him slow down like this.

Gallagher is such a great human being. I remember in the locker room, after one of Bolduc’s first games with the team, Gallagher quickly grabbed the wolf head and gave it to Bolduc to congratulate him.

Then Matheson praised Bolduc as the pride of Quebec, and Bolduc looked super humble and shy lol

I REALLY appreciate Gallagher’s excellent screening of the goaltender. He has the GUTS to stay in the goalie’s face, taking all kinds of punishments.

Our Power Play 1 lacks proper goalie screening, only Gallagher and Dach are adept at this.

The true definition of a warrior. An example to every teammate he has ever had. He left it all out on the ice every single shift. Personally i think him rotating and resting more might provide some big dividends to his play. Huge fan.

  19. Skellephant

Avalanche fan here peacefully. You guys are my second favorite team and its entirely because of this man.

  20. ukrainianhab

Geez he’s just sitting one game. I get it but let’s park the bus here aha

  21. Mbeaud001

He deserves to be honored in the same way Koivu, PK and Markov were. We should applaud him tomorrow as well!

  22. Goin_Hog_Mild

Give this man his flowers & a winning team with load management.

Then make sure there’s a place for him if he gets into player dev. / coaching

  23. deimos289

That picture of him bleeding will live on forever in habs history. This guy has habs logo instead of a heart
