I wonder if any if them understood the meaning of the song. The song agrees with the boo-ers.

Well that song is critical of America

No one ever accused hockey players of being smart.

Quit Hughes was running “his” locker room like a MAGA rally… what’s next in Minnesota… YMCA?

Given what that song is about, it’s fitting.

It’s becoming increasingly unsurprising that this locker room has had the issues it did over the Hughes core’s tenure. American players leading the locker room of a Canadian team with a significant European presence, apparently espousing an us vs. them mentality and pushing a pro-America attitude is bound to create friction. Combine that with Quinn’s limp wristed ‘leadership’ failing to control conflicts and things snowball out of control.

The Foote comment about the team being able to handle issues internally now, and the Willander comment about the vibes in the locker room being better are *very* telling.

I’m not saying that we need to avoid American players altogether moving forward, but I think we’ll be a lot better off with the leadership of the team being mostly Canadian and European. Obviously having a couple of vocal Americans isn’t a problem, but if they’re getting into patriotic circlejerks post-game… it is.

It’s funny to me that both Born in the USA as well as American Woman, both pretty firmly anti-American songs are routinely used as patriotic tunes by Americans who I guess don’t really get what the songs are actually about

I was just out for a walk at lunch today listening to this on pod and blurted out « what the *fuck* ». Think I got a look from across the street.

It was definitely Kane that started playing it

Removing two Americans Garland and Quitter MAGA lover Hughes has shifted this team to finally be free and to play loosely without the sulking and the giving up vibes. Myers isn’t included he was traded to give him a chance of a life time to win a cup but Hughes and Garland definitely gave up also Sherwood never gave up but he had to go for the price he wanted his next contract at.

avg locker room management from kkkuinn hughes

  13. ShanghaiNoon404

Given where half the team is born, it’s appropriate.

The canucks’ troubles start in mid November 2024. Can anyone point to any possible divisive political event around that time that could split a room?
