That Hellebuyckspectacle was definately disappointing
Really disappointing result here tonight and most definitely not Helle's best game. But having said that, the volley of shots he faced from many different angles and the deflections from 10 feet in front of the net caused most of those goals. Our guys have to learn how to tie up sticks and stay with their players who they've been assigned to.
I also noticed that we haven't had our "defensively strongest" lines out there defending against Rangers' best and that's a coaching issue. No excuse when you have last change to have our leaky top line on the ice for the Rangers' best offensive lines. So blame can be assigned several different ways tonight but everybody shares the loss.
I went to the stats to look at who had done the best tonight and found that Lowry had the highest hits with 6, he had a 57.1% on faceoffs, he had one shot on goal and one assist in 13:57 TOI so he gets my Hardest working Jet. Honourable mention to Salomonsson who got 1 point, 2 PIM in 20:11 of TOI, he had 1 shot on goal and 1 hit. Hard working youngster right there.
the first 4 goals on Helle were all deflections…..no chance on those…..Shesterkin was solid
In just two games, Isak has shown me he'll be well worthy of that #27 (and his vision, skill and speed maybe even get him that jersey in the rafters). Trying to blame Jacob for some goals when he's willing to put himself in the line of fire is pretty lame; he has also impressed me a lot so far. On a good note you actually picked both my choices for hardest working Jet. Someone can read all the books he wants; the skill never ever materializes lol.
It's time for a Comrie game,he's been solid in his last few games,full credit to Coms for being so good when Arnie doesn't know he exists and has played 1 frickin game since January
