The Sabres withstood the Sharks' initial onslaught…And then kicked their asses full of cucumbers. Upstart Cellibrini went on vacation without scoring any points.
Sabers are hot, and a fun team to watch. Maybe this will be the year to take home the Stanley Cup!!
Lindy Ruff deserves this chance to coach the Sabers to a win of the Stanley Cup, especially after that horrible loss to the Dallas Stars. The so call winning goal should have been waved off because a Star player was in the crease. Very poor non call by the refs.

I went to the game. The sharks got some decent o-zone time but could not handle the puck to save their lives tonight. Only 2 chances on the power play and I was not a fan of either one. I think Smith hitting the crossbar was a momentum shifter because it became a completely different game after that. Buffalo scored 3 goals in quick succession. They didn't even play that good, it was like taking candy from a baby, opportunistic with a young team playing the way they were and the veteran core doing no favors either. Not sure what goals you could put on Ned, maybe the 4th one. I actually liked Misa's game tonight, he drew a penalty and got some decent chances. Next up, Philadelphia.

Lyon has been terrific. At the time he was acquired, the mood was he’ll at least be an experienced back-up for UPL, give Buffalo some quality starts. No-one predicted this kind of impressive run.
Lyon’s writing a much different chapter for himself w/ this clicking Sabres team, one that came through after weathering several excellent Sharks’ chances.
