@Maple Leafs de Toronto

Losing the series to Montreal and CBJ are the choke ones, the rest they just lost. After they drafted the big 3, they needed to draft mobile, scoring defenceman. They didn't even try. They never learned that they needed to sacrifice for each other, play for each other.

  2. You can't disappoint in the playoffs if you don't make it there.

    Sincerely, a disgruntled Canucks fan

  3. The sad thing is the baby boomers are the only generation who saw the Leafs win a Stanley Cup. Four generations have past since still nothing. The sad stat is ten expansion teams after 1967 have won a Stanley Cup. The Leafs need to get their act together.

  4. "SKILL" alone, does not win Stanley Cups! 2016 to the present, proves that. You also need heart, grit, and toughness to raise that cup? Something that Leafs brass, can still not grasp and understand! IMO.

  5. Been waiting on this video… knew the leafs would be the feature of one of these 😢

  6. “I love Neo-Nazis and Rapists. Alleged pedos are ok too. I just wanna eat McDonalds and belittle women.” -Matthews probably

  7. This is basically the Pittsburgh Steelers story.. they had some of the best players of the past two decades, and wasted it all on a DEI hire head coach.

  8. When an autograph of Matthews costs more than greats like Armstrong and Keon you know there is a problem!! It’s all about the money not about the winning, see Marner and Nylander

  9. very informative video, but you didn't really explain WHY it happened, or at least why you think it happened. My best guess is that in the playoffs, teams really learned to lock down certain players and Toronto was very reliant on their core to score. Kinda lock Edmonton loses when you shut down McDavid and Draisaitl

  10. You did not give proper context to Mitch Marner imo. That’s really one of the more interesting parts of this whole story. He was mercilessly hated on despite being the biggest point producer on the team- one year after he left I think the proof is pretty clear. Even framing his move as a “trade” is a big disingenuous, he was going to leave a toxic market and Toronto managed to get PENNY on the 1000.

  11. I'm wondering out loud if the Leafs are cursed? After my beloved Kings, I root for the Leafs, my 2nd favorite team…sigh.

  12. In the words of Joe Pesci, in the opening, of the movie Casino, It should have been perfect, but in the end, we f#$&% it all up.

  13. My understanding is that the Maple Leafs are perennial losers because there is a lack of fan support in Toronto and Ontario.

  14. Seems simple to me. Babcock chose $10 million man over $2 million man. Kadri, the only real leaf, had to go and we will bring in the geriatric from the islanders. Could have gotton a damn good defenceman for thise bucks. All I can say, is who got the ring Babcock? Kadri, not Tavares.

  15. Toronto Maple Leafs after 1967 Stanley Cup is what dallas cowboys after super bowl 30 and English football team after 1966 World Cup,despite being contenders and having great talents they couldn’t get things done

  16. it gets me so emotional. i just want the leafs to bring home a cup before my old man goes </3 to celebrate a leafs stanley cup win with him would be surreal.

  17. I’m sure the league and the media were pleased the curse continued. Made a lot of money off it.

  18. Still miffed at the horrible corporate optics fail of taking the C off a guy to give it another guy.
If Capn Underpants had a shred of integrity, he woulda said, "No thank you."

But he doesn't, and thats how you end up alone on the ice wth a torn MCL, and nobody coming to your defence…the "best" player on your team…and they did….nothing.

    Nothing but make excuses anyway.

  19. Having Babcock as head coach was a pretty awful choice that didn't help matters

  20. They had 9 years to draft players after Matthews and they had nothing. You cannot build a winning franchise this way. They had 9 years to draft a second pair or better defensemen or a third line center. Nothing. Most years they had awful goaltending in the playoffs. I was 100% against the Tavares signing. I wanted them to keep drafting. Instead they drafted no one of consequence that played for Leafs until Knies. So many awful trades including first rounders. Treliving was a disaster masterclass last trade deadline. To blame the players is missing the point. It was absolutely mismanagement to blame. You let Marner walk for nearly free. Enough said. The teams that beat Toronto in playoffs typically made the final or won the cup.

  21. The leaf's didn't "choke". That implies they got a taste of something to choke on. The leaf's more so, knocked over a pot of boiling water on themselves before dinner was even done.
