Woll has faced 80 plus shots in 2 games. They get outshot every game. They get beat in every facet of the game. Treliving and Berube should have been fired weeks ago. The big problem is Pelley has no idea what he is doing. When Berube called out Woll after the Carolina game he should have been fired.
The leafs are the free spot on the bingo card. Notice how other teams still play hard when they’re out of the playoffs?Yet the leafs have 14 shots on goals. How the puck is that never mention by the sports media in Toronto? It’s absolutely pathetic that management refused make the necessary moves .

I still don't understand Leafs fans wanting to tank for a Top 5 pick this year.
You've emptied your prospect cabinet. You're still against the Salary Cap. You still have Matthews' massive salary and Willy's massive salary to pay. You still have Reilly, Tavares, and OEL on contract, with all 3 aging and JT and Reilly showing signs of said aging. Do you trust that OEL is going to have another career year next year? Do you trust his aging body is going to hold up next year?
Then, you get into uour goalie situation. Do you trust Stolarz and Woll to stay healthy and stand on their heads all season next year? Do you trust management to manage the 4 goalies properly?
Then, let's say the Leafs get a top 5 pick this year. Your next 2 years' 1st round picks become unprotected to Boston and Philly.
Is Toronto going to be good next year with a new coach (presumed) and new GM (presumed,) with little change in the roster? Are you going to place all the hope of next year on Matthews coming back better, a 19 yo Cowan taking a huge step forward, and whichever 18 yo you draft in the top 5?
What happens if the Leafs aren't any good next year, and get a top 3 pick? They have to hand it over to Boston or Philly.
Then, you have to worry about Matthews getting fed up with losing and demanding a trade, or even worse, giving up on the team. Let's say you don't find a trade partner for him, are the 27-28 Leafs any good? What happens if the Leafs finish with another top 3 pick in 28? They have to hand it to the other (Boston/Philly.) Matthews walks away for nothing in June 2028. Now, you have nothing.
It doesn't make sense. Your management screwed you over, that can't be changed. Take your medicine, and give away this years' pick, and hope you're better in the next 2 years.
If you're not any better in the next 2 years, and Matthews walks away anyway, at least you didn't hand Boston and Philly unprotected picks 2 years in a row, especially with Ottawa, Buffalo, Detroit, Montreal, NYI, and Columbus being upcomers within the East.
Zack – I feel terrible knowing what you will have to go through for the next 4-5 years. You should pre-arrange a support network so you don't blow a blood vessel. The Leafs will be bottom-feeders for the foreseeable future. Trust me.
Cowan has talent, that I cannot dispute. However, he may never be strong enough to be a force in the NHL. He needs strong physical wingers to help him develop.
Other than OEL, the defence is a hot mess ……
