What type of stupid question is that? Fortunately they are lucky that they have Mcdavid. Otherwise it's the early 2010 Oilers again. The Oilers have never been a legit Cup contender's. They have a coach who changes lines every game. Bowman trading Skinner because he listened more to the fans then understanding that they need great goaltending because their defense is absolute ass.
So this guy admits the wild card structure is dumb and every year theirs a different team and/or division at a disadvantage they can't really control so much. Need the 1-8 seeding back.
I like this guy
Maybe, just maybe the Pacific actually has something called parity, and all the teams in that division are so close to each other, that they beat and wear down each other, rather than the Atlantic having one team that dominates. Mark my words, the Pacific will be represented in the Stanley Cups Finals, long after the Avalanche have been golfing for over a month.
Oilers have had an easy path to the WCF being in the pacific. Only now is the pacific catching up in terms of quality of teams.
lol 🤣
McDavid's comment seems to have fired up the Pacific, both the Ducks and the Knights won last night. The Oilers better put their pillow away and WAKE UP, because the race is on!
he loves the playoff format because its best for revenue, not best for the sport. . .
You love watching Ovi play? He literally dosent even skate anymore lol.
Playoff Format SUCKs. Change it back.
Mcdavid is out of Edmonton. at this point he's waiting for time to run out. i think he will go to San Jose.
going forward would help Pacific division teams to do something to become more competitive
The format is simply there to make the First Round matchups as exciting as possible. Why? Because sponsors approach broadcasters with the most money when viewership is highest. 16 teams still in it, means more fans. Contrast this with the conference finals, fans of the 4 teams and diehards are watching. It's NOT the owner's preference; revenue plummets if you lose to a competitive matchup in the first round instead of getting kicked in the conference finals. But the same television rights that regionally restrict games and prevent the game from growing, also negatively impact the sporting nature that we would have with the ole 1-8 seed format. Personally, I think growing the game at all costs would make the televison rights more lucrative long term. This strategy makes sense from Bettman but feels shortsighted.
He would be firmly out of the playoffs and any other division in the league, what a fucking joke you’re the two best players in the world and can’t do anything with them
The flames missed the playoffs last year with 96 points. The Habs made it with 91. The year it doesn’t benefit the east it’s now a problem. lol
Id say Macklin Celebrini’s secondary assists are very happy
Finally a reporter that is honest about Obitchin…. he is selfish!!!!
