It’s not hard to make the NHL playoffs . You just have to be better than half the conference . Red wings are sad excuse for a franchise .

Yzerman has run this team for what 7 years. Where is the accumulation of talent we been hearing about for the last 3 years.They're lucky Gibson has found his old self,and been a pretty good goalie.
Those 5 wins in the month of November haunt the team. If they had managed to even go .500 in the month of November then the month of March doesn’t matter as much. They need to get significantly better. Period. With or without Larkin.
If they do not make the playoffs, Yzerman should be gone. Not saying Yzerman will be gone though. Yzerman has had 7 years to build this team to making the playoffs. It just doesn't feel like there is any urgency by Yzerman at all, like he doesn't have to worry about any heat on him. Me personally, I don't expect this team to win the Cup, but I do expect them to just make the playoffs. I don't care if they get knocked out in the first round, they need to make the damn playoffs.
Just fire Yzerman and bring in #91. Get some Russian blood on this team

The powerplay can’t be a teams only strength because that would just mean they are bad at 5v5 hockey. Not to mention they completely stop calling penalties all together in the playoffs. Figure out how to win games 5v5 and we will get into the playoffs, but even if we do we’re out in 5 games imo
"they have to score on the PP without larkin (on the roster)" implies that this team was ever capable of scoring 5 on 5 LOL! The wings have 10 even strength goals combined over the last five seasons.. Larkin has 1 even strength goal in the last 39 games he's played. This team have been power play merchants since Steve took over, hence why they thrive early on when the refs are quick to throw the flags.. After the all star break when calls tighten up, they implode. It's clockwork every year. You can't have Kane, Larkin, and Cat floating around as glass cannons when the season gets gritty. They aren't built for that and all 3 are violently past their primes. If either of those 3 are on your top line, you're not a playoff team.
