Future topic for a video Gil. Will Patrick Roy get the recognition he has earned at the season's conclusion with a Jack Adams nomination? LGI
Things are looking pretty good. Let's go Islanders!!!
2 pp g's BABY!!! 34 on the season now. even 12 g addition added one.
laffs are doing the reverse worst to first this season in division. maybe with the nice re-tool job he has done with pens dubas wasn't the problem? berube sucks anyway. blows cheap shotted their way to that cup.
enjoy no playoffs this season p j judas.
down under-k. aitchenson was voted by ohl coaches as best shot, hardest shot, best offensive d man, and best hitter among eastern conference players in ohl. ka gets to pro game in the fall.
Cal Ritchie’s Canadian? I thought he was born on Long Island
Beating Flames, and leafs is one thing. Let's see how they do against teams like the Habs, BJ's, Stars, Pens, and Sabres
Solid game but I wonder if big save Dave should of played the lesser team in the Leafs. Will Roy over play Sorokin down The stretch? I have concerns about Roy not playing Dave against lesser teams to save Sorokin for the top teams. Yes ! We need all the wins we can get! The dog fight continues to clinch a playoff spot. Happy for Ritchie he is really coming along nicely. Might we see a 3 rd line D pair of Romy and Aitcheson next year? With Mayfield being the spare D. Interesting that Romy’s NTC does not kick in until the 27/28 season. You have to wonder if Darche left a small window open to trade Romy if Schaefer became more then Expected which He obviously has. I am ok with having a solid D. Which could really be our biggest asset next season. Goooo Islanders
Gave up only one shot on 3 PKs. Pageau and Holmstrom in particular actually gave the Isles momentum when they were a man down.
Great team effort. Hopefully, this will continue in Ottawa on Thursday night. LGI
What has this season shown us?
In the preseason MOST fans kept saying "Let Cal develop in Bridgeport" and "Its OK if Schaef needs a year in Bridgeport, he's only 18yrs old"
THIS LEAGUE HAS CHANGED!!!! You absolutely CAN be 18, 19yrs old and have success!!
I hope they give same chance to Aitch (who is SO clearly NHL ready) as is Eiserman (the NCAA is the toughest competition outside of Sweden) and he thrived in NCAA. And Eklund of course.
Give these young guys a chance to develop NOW. The bottom line is this, whether u get NHL experience at 18 or 19yrs old or 21 or 22yrs old there is a slight learning curve…..so why waste the 2 years in Bridgeport? Youre considered old by 30yrs in this league now.
All preseason long I SCREAMED "give Cal a spot" when he was sent down I was livid!!! (I even left comments on this very channel saying so) Cal Ritchie was so clearly NHL ready and Im happy he proved Roy (and me lol) right.
And I hope next year Aitch, Eklund and Eiserman are on the Isles roster. They should be able to prove themselves.
Id certainly rather them over DuClair, Shabanov, Mayfield. Those guys are DONE.
Can you imagine….Schaef, Ritchie, Eklund, Eiserman, Aitch, Gatcomb….being schooled by vets like Bo, Barzy, Lee, Schenner, Pager and Casey?? And guys like Homer and Heine just getting better 😱😱😱😱 Oh and Ilya in the pipes.
Thats a cup team in 2yrs
Gil they started the three day road trip off well with the win
The birthday Zendo.
They all so try to score on 4 minute power play
Oshawa Gens fan here (and now Islanders supporter because of Ritchie) – Cal Ritchie is the real deal and he is going to be a top player in a couple years!
I liked the line combinations they used tonight. I hope Roy sticks with them and lets them build some chemistry together.
Breakout game for Ritchie, and more importantly a solid 60 min effort from the team.
nice win in toronto. now they have another winnable game vs senators. need to win this game against senators or the win against toronto will mean nothing.
Good 🌅, Gil. How are you? The Islanders played a solid game last night. Cal Ritchie scored the GW GOAL. Both Ritchie and Schafer didn't disappoint their families that were in the stands. What made this win even sweeter was that Kyle McLane won a fight, and the icing on the 🍰 was they tucked Pajama Boy in his bed and said GOOD 🌙. Ilya Sorokin came thru with the big save. Hero, Cal Ritchie for scoring the GW GOAL and making the PP work. 🐐, 0, and that's nice FOR A CHANGE. For every good, THERE IS SOME BAD. The Blue 🧥 won and so did the Canadiens and the Bruins got a loser point. The Islanders did a fine job on ALL THE PP CHANCES THAT THEY HAD even though they scored on two of them. It was a 60 minute effort. Brayden Schenn made his presence felt as an Islander by scoring a goal. The Islanders signed Kaishaun Aitcheson to an ELC.
Hear from you later, Gil, but before I go, I compared Cal Ritchie to Michael Corleone from The Godfather for his strategy, and Kayce Dutton from Yellowstone for his strategy and his humility when it comes to the team. Also, what I said about Trots' health was "FAKE NEWS" and what tipped me off was the Islanders organization would've known and said something ON THE SPOT. Now, LGI 🏒🔵🟠
I wonder if J T regrets his decision to leave now.
