@Canucks de Vancouver

A good human being and a good hockey player. Handsome.

    I like him.

    *I think he’s neat*.

Enigmatic, but a solid team guy. Average skater, huge shot. Quiet in the room but carries a big voice. I think he and Rossi would pair well together. And, he LOVES Vancouver.

  4. The market has changed. $7.25M is not anywhere close to elite money anymore, and is on line with someone who does have a credible history of scoring goals. But his current AAV is on par with someone who is above-average but several tiers below the best of the best.

To that end, I think Boeser’s contract is fair, just not spectacular value. He doesn’t drive play on his own, does require the help of capable linemates, and is still a threat on the powerplay. But his shot has changed a lot since he first got into the league, and he’s no longer a pure sniper. Most of his goals are in the dirty areas, which still has value in today’s game.

More important than stats, however, are the intangibles. He genuinely enjoys playing for the Canucks, and living in Vancouver. He’s been through a ton of adversity as a human being, and has never been a distraction through any of it. He’s a beloved teammate by seemingly everyone, and he has never been the cause of any controversy or issue. He’s a genuinely good person, and a great role model for younger players to watch and follow.

    Leave Brock Alone!!

    One of Benning’s finest picks.

    * ducks chairs thrown at him *

He’s gotten over 20 goals every full season he’s played (aside from 1). Paired with a good playmaker (Sedin’s, Miller) he can get you 30+

7.25 is far from a bad cap hit. The term is the scary part because he’s not the fastest already. Most teams would’ve paid him 8+ but with less term.

We’ll see if it lasts, but I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve heard from him since the trade deadline. He very much sounds like he’s taking more ownership of the team and trying to be more of a leader. I like that from him.

Never lived up to his rookie season, but has always been a guy you can root for. He wants to stay a Canuck and I hope he finishes out his contract here.

  10. Player production is irrelevant when tanking. If they were producing like people want, they would be hurting the draft position.

You need to have enough salary on the books to meet the cap floor, so contracts are also irrelevant when you’re not near the cap nor trying to contend.

Just let it ride until the rebuild is done. Unless you get an offer you can’t refuse.

  11. The cap is going up like crazy in the coming years. 7.25M won’t even be that bad soon.

Seems like a good dude, I like that he’s on the team. I hope he has more luck in both his personal and professional life soon.

A good dude who I wish nothing but the best.

If he wins a cup with us, he’d be the most deserving player on the team

Glorious facial hair. Pretty. Nice bloke by all accounts. Likes animals = good person.

He’s a genuinely very nice person and he’s endured some hardships in his personal life that I would never want to face. For this alone I genuinely don’t like seeing anyone get on his back.
If he walked away from the game when his Dad passed away, I wouldn’t have blamed him and would have liked to have given him a hug before he sailed into the sunset.
He cares and puts it out on the ice (sure like others have stated he needs top talent to get the best out of him). I’d like to see him retire as a Canuck.

Out of every player there is he will always be one I will root for.

Guy came to work every day while his dad was battling Parkinson’s, cancer and dementia.

I can’t imagine how hard that must have been.

I’m so happy he found his person and is finding his joy again.
