I’ve got a mailbag question—I’m thinking back to a few years ago when Tavares relinquished the captaincy in Toronto to Auston Matthews. Although the Leafs were in a different spot developmentally than this current Rangers squad, do you think there’s any possibility we see something like that happen between JT Miller to his good buddy, an obviously beloved motivator and fan favorite, Vincent Trocheck next season? I don’t know if it’s just me, but everything I’ve seen from JT Miller doesn’t scream effective captain to me. It also seems the team plays far better with JT Miller out of the lineup, especially the young guys. Thanks for all your hard work on this podcast, and please let next season be a better one for all of us long-suffering Rangers fans!
After the Rangers went on a 6-2-2 stretch, the coaches/front office rushed back Fox and Miller…led to a five game losing streak which included just four shots over two periods on Mika’s 1000th game vs the Senators.
During that stretch, Alexis Lafreniere went from 7 game point streak to just 1 goal 2 assists over last few games. Perreault-Lafreniere-Zibanejad line went from most productive on PP1 to anemic PP2.
Miller demoted.
I’m wondering why Fox ($9.5M), Mika ($8.5M), Miller ($8M), Lafreniere ($7.5M) are playing so terrible after being paid well to compete?

Sadly the fans paid obnoxious amount of money approximately $349/seat in 100 level.
