@Red Wings de Détroit

  1. No we definitely do considering we’re a point out

  2. Drewbuly

We’re catching Philly at the wrong time.

  3. aggressivepoverty

    Seider and chuds

Will he be around for our next rebuild after we deal Lark and Cat at the deadline next year? He’ll be like 30+

  4. Suspicious_Walrus682

Let’s be real – this team wasn’t built for the playoffs. Even if they make it, they’ll get lit up in 4 games against any hard-forechecking team. 29th in the league in 5-on-5 scoring. We have no business being in the playoffs.

  5. xSorry_Not_Sorry

    Goooooooo organizational depth!!

All these shit years and draft picks to have absolutely nothing in the cupboards to help. Just bodies. Young bodies to be sure, but none of them difference makers, just cheap, controlled bodies to fill jerseys on the ice and do nothing to affect the game one way or the other.

Bunch of kids either a) playing scared of mistakes or b) lack NHL level talent to do anything of consequence.

  6. Conscious-Sympathy51

This is where the rollercoaster truly begins and they win when everyone gives up and loss when everyone regains hope. It’s been the same story with this team for years.

  7. Wingnut8888

I still think the Red Wings can make the playoffs. Whether they deserve to is another question entirely.

But it’ll take a lot to go right in the final 11 games. And nothing’s been going right for the Red Wings for a while now.

  8. MoCider

Slap me with a doomer flair I don’t give a shit this team fucking stinks.

  9. Tiny-Employ8520

We need some dogs for the 3rd or 4th line. Someone who is gonna forecheck the other team’s D into the 3rd row. Force turnovers and bring some energy. Way too many guys with not enough skill trying to be skill players.

  10. 2IWontBeHereLong

I’m usually positive but this is just another disappointment.

  11. Patient-Border5357

I officially choose Raymond as my ’25-26 scapegoat. Dude does not play with any edge and has 5 goals in the last 19 games

  12. santafe4115

Ah geez guys idk I know I’m really not the hockey expert but I figured a team hand picked by steve yzerman might gaf and have some heart about playoffs

  13. Ndawg1114

We’re in that mushy middle that I’ve been telling people for years, and we’re not getting out of it anytime soon. Since Steve isn’t willing to pull off a big trade, we don’t have the high end pieces to acquire them, we’re stuck

  14. Slow_Significance329

Only 1 more year and the Yzerplan will happen! Right?

  15. TheAnalogKid18

Build a dirty rat team. I want 3 ECHL shitstains that can barely skate as well as they can write their names to just come in and make star players lives miserable. Finish every check on them, hit them as hard as you possibly can, fight them without their consent. Beat the ever loving piss out of them.

You got a goalie giving you a hard time? Sent Daniel Diamond Hands Amesbury out there and have him just be a piece of shit to him the entire game. It’s a tight situation in the crease, no better time to truck the goalie.

You don’t have to cause serious injury to get in their heads. This team is softer than baby shit and doesn’t live rent free in people’s heads at all.

  16. Lions-fan4life

Could this team not give me a heart attack in March for one year?!

  17. RamenRoy

Friedman said something about hearing Detroit is full of guys playing injured. Sure looks like he’s right.

  18. I don’t think I was expecting playoffs this year, but at a certain point not making it becomes a three-fold problem:

    * players who’ve been here awhile start to just accept it’s never going to happen
    * core team members never develop that critical playoff experience where losing a series or two teaches you how to dig a little deeper, sustain playing longer seasons
    * free agents and people with NTC don’t view Detroit as a viable destination because they don’t think it will ever contend

I’m a bit at a loss, I think Yzerman has done well considering what he’s left with, but I can’t help but thinking sucking for a few more years to acquire some higher level draft picks would have been better. Right now our only hope seems to be that a young player suddenly takes an unexpected step forward, or a free agent decides Michigan is their home and wants to return, both of those seem unlikely.

All this said, I feel like the first half of the season they were over performing significantly, now they’re under performing significantly, the story is more toward the middle that they’re just a bubble team still.

  19. fissi0n-chips

Same shit, different year. Piss poor team structure.

  20. Character_Wishbone67

The Wings still control their own destiny. They just have to win. Unlikely the way they have been playing. They aren’t getting the lucky bounces either. You can’t lose at home to Boston and Ottawa and expect to make the playoffs. Those were must win games and they came away without a point. It’s pretty much over.

  21. Flowsnice

Stevie shit the bed with not getting another forward at the deadline. Perron actually makes the team worse not better

  22. thehockeytownguru

    Things killing us..

    1. Ourselves
    2. No one can score expect Cat. (Who would have 40 if he hasn’t had so many goals called off lately)
    3. Dump and chase has returned to Red Wings hockey
    4. Letting teams push us around
    5. Odd man breaks due to dump and chase
    6. Goals called off in multiple games, that seem to deflate us and ignite opposition.
    7. Low danger shots on goal, vs high danger from opponents
    8. Gripping sticks too hard
    9. Larkin isn’t Yzerman and probably doesn’t have the locker room speech to light fire under team.
    10. Edvinsson playing like he is 5’-8” not 6’6”
    12. Kane has noticeably slowed down quite a bit.
    13. Raymond’s shoulder is clearly hurt.
    14. Alex Tanguay
    15. PK is getting bad at the wrong time.
    16. Toddfather not scratching “Jerseys”
    17. Powerplay has gone colder than Ayatollah Khamenei
    18. Gibson isn’t Superman
    19. Griffins can’t send entire team to Detroit.
    20. The DJ at the LCA

  23. ALinkToThePants

We all knew deep down they would fail us again. It’s just funny at this point.

  24. daveathor

« The wings are not in control of their destiny and here is the evidence »

Meanwhile, the « evidence » shows they are in fact 100% in control of their destiny. That is why it says 100% next to 11 wins.

  25. Leepa1491

No we cannot do it. We can’t score or generate offense against some of the worst teams or teams with completely depleted defenses. We have pretty much no shot. This team needs to be blown up unfortunately. Keep Mo, keep DeBrincat, keep Larkin (assuming he isn’t planned to be our 1C) pretty much anyone else Im fine with trading.

  26. Cdntitansfan22

Just don’t fire Yzerman when we don’t make the playoffs. He can run this team for another 19 years and I would be happy. When we click in 2-3 years another dynasty will happen and it will all be his drafting and patience.

  27. DixieNorris

Until they truly get a solid centremen depth they will continue to do what they are doing. I understand why yzerman didnt go after robert thomas but fuck it needs to be addressed this off season or northing will change. Larkin needs more help.
