« It’s March, what do you want us to do?  »

What we need down the stretch is to win games Dylan. I mean…..do the guys even want it? Sure doesn’t look like it from my POV. We went from something like an 87% chance of making the playoffs to forgetting how to win hockey games. How do you let Ottawa come in to our house and beat us in what I would consider a must win game? Fuck me, this is frustrating to watch yet again

I like Larkin, sadly I’m coming around to he’s not the guy that should be wearing the C

  4. Frylock_91

He can’t blame the GM for not making trades to help the team this time. It’s on his shoulders if they fail to make the playoffs.

  5. pzagrbge

2 of our top 4 d are Faulk and Chiarot and our best case scenario 2c is Andrew Copp.

    We are still overachieving. Massively.

I want the playoffs, bad, just like you all, but blaming the captain for a loss after coming back early from an injury and contributing immediately is pretty dumb.

  6. jzanville

Neat, losing 2-3 when you were down 0-3 can be counted as digging yourself out of a hole. Real great standard to set there cap’n.

The people turning on Larkin are the only people left that still think yzerman isnt to blame. Yzerman was a generational talent for us as a player and is the reason we’re so historic of a franchise, it’s going to take a lot for people to accept he’s not the equivalent of a GM, and that means blaming the guy that got a goal in his first game back from injury

This team is breaking my heart.

Too busy gargling Don’s balls. Trade Larkin.

  10. cinemagnitude

This looked like a game from last year. Except we would have been up 3 and lost 4-3.

    New captain please

Team played harder when he was hurt and out than when he was back.

I’ve cheered for Iowa State’s football team as long as I’ve been alive, so I understand decades long losing streaks. I’m immune. But good grief. Isn’t there ANYONE who can light a firecracker under these guys?!? It’s like none of them care. Even Steve seems to have given up. This is a group that can win. They just don’t seem to want to win.

  13. techybeancounter

I’ve said it for years and have been downvoted on here for years – This team will never come close to sniffing a Stanley Cup with Dylan Larkin as the captain. He lacks the necessary grit and leadership abilities to lead a group of men to the Stanley Cup.

You will never get as much for Larkin as you would have gotten at this last trade deadline…

  14. batman222b

More like we dug a deeper hole by losing. We are digging our own grave.

  15. I’m not going to lie but these comments are as much of a red flag as were Lalonde’s comments when he said he never spoke to the team after losses. I don’t need Larkin to ream the guys in the media, but the message can’t be that they put up a good effort after laying a goose egg in the second period.

Most of us saw the game. Their energy level was awful as soon as one thing went wrong (correctly called offsides).

  16. wearedefiance

He has absolutely no fire under his ass, there’s no drive in anything he says.

The last thing “we” NEED, is the ability to crawl out of a hole just enough that you’re able to lift your arm out of it with a white flag. You didn’t “come back”, you didn’t “crawl back”, you didn’t “show up”, you got kicked around and when Ottawa let up you decided you remembered how to score just enough to still lose. The energy you had in the first half of the 3rd is what your energy should be going forward. You’re in dire straits right now, this is about to be another year of your team missing the playoffs if you can’t find a way to turn it up. Relying on Gibson, Seider and recently Shine to carry these games and bring fire to your team isn’t going to work.

You NEED to play forward, you NEED to score, you NEED to win and this team NEEDS you to show up and be the captain you were assigned to be. Get fired up, get angry, get emotional, be excited about the wins. This team NEEDS that fire. The monotonous Eeyore ass “yeaaaah… we trieeeed our beeeest… gotta keeeeep truckin iiiit…” isn’t getting this team anywhere. There is such a negative Nancy ass attitude in that locker room and you can see it every night. I don’t know if it’s the coach, I don’t know if it’s Larkin, nobody knows.

But we all know this team can turn it up to ten and fight against uneven odds. We see it throughout the season, we just seen it without Larkin at the end of the season, so now let’s see it WITH Larkin at the end of the season for once. We should have won that game as well as the one against Boston, it’s that simple. These March collapses have become unacceptable, the teams response as a whole to losing has become unacceptable. They just don’t seem to care.

  17. csoules1998

Seider’s press conference seemed more like a captain to me. Larkin looks like all is lost in this press conference…

  18. Pulp_Ficti0n

Dude cared more about the Olympics

  19. El_diablo_blanco_27

He stuffed his face in the orange turds crap filled depends when he should have stood up and defended his causes. That stench can never be washed off and his true character has been laid bare.

  20. BuffaloSoldier11

Must be tough when you can’t even blame Yzerman for not making a move this time. Faulk will at least be a plus player for us next season.

  21. MemeLordOverKill

I genuinely don’t feel anything anymore. At first I told myself that I wasn’t worried, in a sense I wasn’t, as if I knew this would happen. In fact I called before the Olympics. The curse of the orange fucker is 3/3.

  22. Youare10plybud

I’m prepared for the downvotes, but honestly is Larkin the guy to be leading this team? I’m not questioning his talent or ability to make plays, his record speaks for itself, he’s a great player—but we’ve had 3 HC’s in 5yrs and the result is always the same come March. Maybe it goes higher than him and it’s the culture that Yzerman is setting, idk, but Larkin sounds defeated here, and I wonder if the other guys on the team see it too.

  23. Katieo1022

Piss poor effort overall last night. And on a night the other teams actually wanted to let us back in we said “no thanks.” Who the hell is going to light a fire inside the hearts of this team? Come on! This is do or die, show us you want it!

  24. goodolvpochina

I’m sick of looking at his sad defensive face. Own this shit and get mad.

  25. VacationConstant8980

Honestly. Move on from the “Captain”. The one on the team and the one in the front office. This franchise needs a complete flush.

  26. MoTownOrange

If they actually WANT to win they got a funny way of showing it. How can you go into March this year and not do everything you can to break this curse. They’re fucking leaning into it.

I’m sure they want to win more than us, this is just frustration talking, but fuck this rollercoaster is exhausting.

  27. Coleslawwwww14

take that C off his jersey and give it to Mo. Is Larkin gonna complain about Yzerman again not adding? At some point the players need to do their fucking job

  28. notgoodatthese

If detroit sports could not associate with p3dos maybe we wouldn’t be cursed
