Back in the day, my home team in Pittsburgh was usually blacked-out from local broadcasts. So I became an Islanders and Rangers fan courtesy of super station WOR. Bossey (and Trots)was a huge reason I became a life-long hockey fan. Amazing skills and a class act, a combination not always found together. Bossey was it with plenty to spare in both.
Habs fan here, I wanted to say that Mike was amazing as a player and I hope you will make him happy in heaven with the Stanley
mike bossy best ever natural goal score .ever to play the game. no 22 mike bossy peoples hero alaways . rip mike
Mike Bossy Rest in peace !!!!. What a great player
This is so sad, both Leflure and Bossy within a week. They are probably the best 2 right wingers in NHL history. However while the islanders own the record of 19 straight playoff series wins in a row the Montreal Canadiens actually won 5 cups in a row and own that record.
Thanks for the journey Mike.
I cried so hard during this
I was a young hockey player in Michigan. My first recollection of the NHL was the Islanders winning the Stanley cup. The Red Wings were god awful. The Islanders were my favorite team to root for, and Mike was, is and always will be my favorite player. My heart goes out to his friends and family.
I grew up a Huge Blackhawks fan, yet as a kid playing hockey I would often imagine myself as Mike Bossy cranking a slap shot while flying down the wing! He was a Great player! You had to respect & appreciate the talent this man possessed. What a huge loss for us all! RIP
R.I.P. Mike…
R.I.P.
Greatest goal scorer ever
Legend #22
R.I.P Mike 🙏🏻
Even as a Chicago Blackhawk fan , I place Mike Bossy in my top five favorite players of all time . He was hockey greatness . Rest in peace Mike , thanks for the memories .
Bossy's family held an open to the public service at a funeral home this past week in Ste Therese. Literally 15 minutes away from my home in Laval. I wish I had known. I would have gone to pay my respects.
Gilles, Lafleur now Bossy. My childhood hockey hero’s. This is a kick in the gut. 😭😭😭🌹🌹🌹9,10,22.
Respect Mike Bossy . Merci les Islanders
I wouldn't be an Islanders fan if not for Mike Bossy. I'm not from Long Island, but my mom and her family are. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't have heard stories about him from my mom and uncle growing up, and this team never would've been a part of my life. May he rest in peace.
is it weird that his number was 22 and he passed away in 20…22
"FIFTY MISSION CAP!"
Two things are for sure when the boss was in the lineup. If he had gotten the puck on his stick there was going to be a precision play made by him followed by a faceoff at center. Pure goal scorer, was hard to keep off the boxscore. Rip 22.
For me, Mike Bossy, similar to Bobby Orr, is one of hockey's most talented icons whose career was cut short, and also one of the most humble and gracious players around. As a Ranger fan raised to hate the Islanders, it was awfully hard not to be a huge fan of Mike Bossy. RIP
Maybe Jethro and Boss are up there skating in between Gordie Howe for now in the Big Game until Trots comes one day – I bet it's a heck of a game..
Как время летит!
Очень жаль!
Как будто, видел его вчера, и Тротье и Жиля!
