At 6:41, I thought Ovies was going to ask, "Where does the organization stand on Delaware urinal troughs?" OK, that's 2:00 on me for interference….
Not only was Jack Murphy Stadium named after a sportswriter, but he was the brother of chain-smoking legendary Mets broadcaster Bob Murphy, who started with the baseball franchise alongside former Pittsburgh Pirates slugger Ralph Kiner and loudly dressed Tennessee Volunteer alum Lindsey Nelson….
Can we put Will Wade in the penalty box and give him 2-minutes for roughing N.C. State fans egos?
In regard to pro baseball expansion, I would guess other logical spots to put a franchise in the south would be Charlotte, Nashville and Memphis, in addition to the Raleigh/Durham Triangle area. All have supported minor league baseball franchises over the years and have the population needed to support a professional team. I would imagine that a lot will come down to the pitches that each metropolitan area makes to MLB as well as the infrastructure situation (is a stadium currently available for a team or does one need to be built?).
Damn this just got me excited the Stanley Cup Playoffs!
My god the corporate speak when he called folks in the cheap seats "entry level fans"
I would really like to see something on the broadcast rights that has better access to the masses, maybe more games on WRAL or get it added to more of the online packages like youtube tv….
Hard pass on MLB in Raleigh. Actively pulling against that. Not one cent of public funding should go towards undermining interest in the Bulls and our college programs.
