    After that hit on Draper I wanted blood. I was stewing about that for a year. I was watching when the fight broke out. It was awesome to finally see some payback.

    90s hockey was a different animal – you’ll never see this level of intensity and animosity between two teams again.

    Don’t @ me with TB or Florida. The 90s Wings would stomp a mudhole through ‘em and walk ‘em dry.

    Glad Turtle got Mo to sign a very team friendly contract though.

    I grew up an Avs fan during that time (Am currently an Avs AND Wings fan)… No better rivalry than that! Those were good times.

    Went from Fight night at the Joe to rolling over and playing dead at Little Ceasars. From watching Claude Lemieux turtle up to the whole team turtling up.

    Oh the good ol days.

    Dang, what a good memory that was. Other than the first cup win in 97, this was the loudest I ever heard the arena. All the demons of chokers past were exercised that night. The roar when D-Mac was pummeling Lemeiux was dwarfed when Vernon was trading blows with Roy. D-Mac was still able to stay in the game and scores the winner in overtime. The team now has zero grit.
