Let's get real. The Wings are basically out of the playoff run. They can't score consistently and have given their opponents who were behind them a month ago another chance at the post season. And no, it's not a must win with the Flyers. It was a must back when they played Vegas, Florida, Boston, and Ottawa. They're basically out. Don't kid yourself that they'll do something miraculous in the next 12 games, like win 10 out of 12, bc that ain't happenin', ain't least not with this roster. Gibson gave them (the Wings) a run for their money, but he hasn't performed short of miraculous as of late, probably bc this roster has tired him out with no scoring and an average at best defense. You can't expect Gibson, or even Talbot, to have no more than a 2 against goals average when your forwards can't find the back of the opposing net….. Good for Bernard-Docker but even though he's young, the Wings are gonna need a lot more than him to ever make it into the playoffs. Stevie Y got the Wings a goalie who could've given them a slight chance at getting into the post season this year, but Stevie Y failed to get players who could actually score consistently. Stevie Y has been given more than enough time to get this team at least to participate in the first round, but you can't get into the playoffs if you don't have players who can score goals. Back to the drawing board.
This is why we can't have nice things. Bernard-Docker may be a good D man eventualy, he does hit more than eveyone except Seider and he blocks a lot of shots, Ottawa was quick to get rid of him (yeah, Ottawa, who is on their way into the playoffs and we're not). A good fit? Yeah, for the way we play. If he beefs up in the off-season he might be a better threat. We need grit. We need grind. We need someone who'll drop the gloves in the middle of a struggling game, not with 8 seconds left. Too many Red Wing fans here want the style and finesse of a European skater, and we've gotten lazy about that. We love our snipers and twinkle-toe jukers, at the sacrifice of beef and brawn. Federov would be less witbout Konstantiov, a bruiser. We need teams to shiver the thought they were playing us. We need teams who can't run us over in their O zone because they have to have one eye open for a coming freight train. Casual board checks is one thing, a deuce and a half truck who hits open ice without prejudice is another. When the golf clubs are put away in July this year, go out and find a guy who has three digits in the sin bin. Get someone who'll turn opponents insides to liquid when he swings his legs over the wall. Then we might, might stop the record at 11 seasons.
ASP has points that are actually goals!! Stop playing this Guy up OMG!! If are GM actually made real trades this wouldn't even an issue!

Let's hope that the RW defense is 99% set for next year. I don't see any problems with this contract, either time or cap. Someone needs to be a 6/7 player and JBD gives others (in GR) the opportunity to be that player. I'd rather have ASP in GR for a whole year to boost his game, than sit on his asle in the RW press stand.
JBD played better the more he got to play, he looked really bad when he alternated the press stand with games early in the season. Hard to really get a feel for the game when you're handled like that and ASP has been handled exactly the same and played the last 7 games before being sent down. The defense needs stability as well as they need to perform better as parts, Gibby is the difference that they had (do!) a better season than many of us thought beforehand. No, I didn't believe in the playoffs then and I don't think so now. Time for S.Y. to be given a new job in the organization, preferably where he can work with youngsters, the GM role is not his thing…
Havent scored 6 since October. How is that possible? I just pray they bring in Pettersson, Thomas, Hischier or god forbid Matthews in the offseason. Empty the cupboards, finish this rebuild. No more prospect dreaming. Only prospects they should be dreaming about after July is Augustine or Cossa. And that is OR because they should trade one of them.
