Making easy money. KK is fine.
Kotkaniemi could have been Brady Tkachuk. YIKES. 3rd overall: Kotkaniemi. 4th overall: Brady Tkachuk. 7th overall: Quinn Hughes.
YIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You must never, ever, especially in the 1st round, pick by position instead of skill/talent in a draft.
Just look at Slaf, he's a winger; we could have had 2 promising centers in Cooley and Wright. (at that time)
But they explained that finding a good big, what is called, "power" forward is even harder than a good center.
Before Caufield, Kotka was Nick Suzuki's bestie. It kinds sux how his career has derailed.
Should of,Would of,Could of! His career was derailed with KK unfortunately being a pawn in the ego and business side of the game. Hopefully he will be seen as a player instead of an asset.
This just makes me sad. Dude had promise hope he can turn things around
Kapanen, is what Kotkaniemi should have been.
Who will pick up KK next year?
KK has the size and skills to be a solid player but he's not. It must be mental or confidence. To give him credit, his face offs have improved.
You keep riding this KK Train! Canadians turned that 1st rd pick into C.Dvorak! Please! How that turn out? Plus KK is the 87th paid center in the league. Plus, Canadians are paying Danault 5.5 million for a 16 points in 64 games. KK has 9 points in 34 games. You’re so weak fundamentally.
Honesty kinda forgot he existed and the what team he was on. As a Habs fan.
Victim of a petty game played by an owner's ego.
His agent is an idiot.
What a petty little post.
Only 4 players in the top 10 turned out much good. Not going to cry much about taking KK over Tkachuk. Might have missed out on Slaf, Demidov, Hage etc if Tkachuk would have improved Montreal a bit. In long run things might have worked out for the best.
The Cane’s trolled us so hard and now they have so much egg on their face. I love it.
Wondering if the KK saga would have had a completely different turn, had he had a coach like MSL to develop him. Coach turned Caufield into a complete player, so maybe he could have worked some magic with KK. Of course, it would have depended on KK's openness to suggestion, willingness to accept criticism and to put in a lot of extra effort.
I didn't like that lanky plug since the first day we drafted him.
Kotkaniemi doesn't care, he's getting paid big money!
To think that the Canes offered Koko to the Kings for Danault while Marc Bergevin was senior advisor to the GM in L.A. … the nerve!
kk is crying all the way to the bank!
He was always a headscratcher draft. It was such a stroke of luck for Montreal.
as long as they remain slayers of the offer sheet, the Hurricanes will be good. What other ones have they done since??
Kotkaniemi is done. Karma caught up to him. I despise him and Radulov. But, look at the CH now. Guys signing contracts and leaving money on the table so they can play with their mates.
Can't believe we had a chance of drafting Brady Tkachuk or Quinn Hughes instead of this flop
Karma!!! In your face Carolina!
