Compared to the start of the season? He was literally third star of the NHL and then Marty kept forcing Monty. Factor in Monty’s goalie coach and suddenly it’s easy to see where and why Doby went through a rough patch.

Dobes is an entity unto himself. He’s not Price, because Price projected coolness under pressure. Dobes is like a classic Habs fan – anxious, intense, and emotional. It’s his fuel – he sees the game the way kids see their heroes stepping up when facing adversity. As a fan for 50+ years, this is the guy I want in the playoffs.
