Anyways, here’s what I would roll out today against the Flyers
Compher – Larkin – Raymond
Cat – Copp – Kane
Kasper – Finnie – Mazur
JVR – Shine – Perron
Kasper, Finnie, Compher can take turns centering the fourth line with 2 of the bottom 3 guys
Finnie or Kasper are better on top line than Compher, but Compher is useless unless he’s around better players (where he’s actually okay) and Finnie/Kasper can generate offense on their own on the third line
Finally – Mazur has earned it, there’s a reasonable chance he can help generate some offense.
Appleton takes dumb penalties and provides no offensive output. He also only played 20 seconds on the penalty kill.
I see no reason to play him at this point, he’s the new Ras
Flyers are tied for 5th-worst GF/GP in the month of March, but are also 8-3-1 because of how stingy they are defensively (2nd fewest GA/GP, 9th fewest SA/GP).
Feels like the Wings are going to have to get an ugly and/or fluky goal or two, while limiting their mistakes and getting more solid goaltending themselves.
