Respectfully, I think you are misleading your viewers by suggesting that being the bottom 5 means the Leafs could draft 5th or better depending where the finish. If the Leafs finish bottom 5th, due to the lottery, it could be 10th or 15th pick. The lottery rule is that you can't pick higher than 10 from your spot in the draft or lower than 10 from you spot. All it is, is that they get to keep their first round pick this year. Thus, what you should be discussing is how deep is this years draft selection. Is it 15 deep or at least 10 deep? If not, maybe we don't want it if next year there is a equal or better selection because it is top 10 protected. And the above the same for next year as it applies to another team.

Blah blah blah. Leafs can draft all kinds BUT they don't know how to develop players on the farm. Also, they trade them or let them rot down there. Name one player they drafted and developed through the farm that made it to the Leafs over the last 40 years.
