If they were going to replace Cassidy why not Ryan Craig? Cassidy will have a job within a month. Tortorella is going to pull the goalie out after the first 1 or 2 crap goals. He won’t let it fester out of control to 3 or 4 crapper goals. I want to see that part.

One can use the perspective of this team getting progressively worse since the Cup win. Wild? Yes. But should it be surprising considering this team’s front office? No. Bill Foley needs to take control or give the team a front office that’s willing to make themselves accountable as well.

Adin Hill peaked in 2023 and was absolutely amazing but it was easy to see in the next season that Hill cannot consistently play that way for 82 games. Maybe it’s the ongoing groin injury. He has moments of amazing stops but does not play that way consistently. He is not a starting goalie. Schmid is more dialed in and has a quicker response and adjustment time in net. Whoever decided to extend Hill’s contract through 2032 was the most incompetent decision made. Sorry Hill. I hope you can prove me wrong. Thanks for the time Bruce!

Short term the firing of Cassidy may be a positive as they jockey for playoff position and make a legitimate run to win their second Stanley Cup. But long term Cassidy is one of the best coaches in the league, and his expertise will be missed. Hopefully Tortorella will light a fire and spur the Knights on to a deep run for Stanley!!!!!

It's too bad. I think Bruce Cassidy is a very good coach, but maybe bringing in a hard nosed coach like John Tortorella might be the jolt every player needs to be just that little bit better.

I saw this coming playing Marner at center with 5 forward power play saying sticking with Hill as slip almost below LA. He never could start right goalie in playoffs even in Boston when had two solid options. Bro was not going to win but kept in till injured forcing to put in Hill or Quick. Even that if JQ won it would save awful contract gave Over The Hill. Not a fan of Torts doubt lasts 3 years. Not even fan of getting Marner but some other moves seem better. Shocked at timing but only Al Arbour has won Jack Adams twice in row on same team as rest get fired within 3 years. McCrimmon was just lucky with the Stanley Cup run. Hill was a the 3rd Goalie on that roster. What kind of a front office would trade a player w/out knowing the no trade clause. This is the same guy who acquired Robin Lehner and trade away Flower. Also the same guy who traded Nick Zuzuki for Pacioretty then trade him away for peanuts. Does this look like a quality FO?
