I was at the game last night. After Olivier left the game they completely fell apart.
It says something about how bad we were out of it under Evason for a three game slump to our entire season on the line.
Bowness has done some magic to rise us from the ashes, but it's made us complacent that things will just always work themselves out.
You're right on the money about a lack of veteran accountability. Boone taking costly penalties, Monahan completely vanishing. Etc.
Sucks that we lost Severson and now Olivier. They were two vets we could rely on.
I don't know how you salvage this. It all just sucks.
Boone deserves to have his C stripped, straight up. The number of boneheaded penalties from your supposed captain is absolutely unacceptable. Zero situational awareness. It's time to pass the torch to Z. Honestly, we should have moved Boone at the deadline. All of that being said, it's obviously not all Boone's fault. This team turtles in the most mind-boggling ways. The way we lose, and how often we lose that way defies all logic and odds.

It's hard to believe how far they have fallen in just a week and a few days. They were playing so well defensively now all of the sudden, they are giving the puck away in the neutral zone with regularity, taking stupid penalties and going into that godawful defensive shell again. They are not getting beat. They are giving games away. Being up by 3 goals in the 3rd period, at home during a playoff race should be an automatic win, no questions asked! I let out a few fbombs Saturday and dropped enough on Sunday night to level a small nation. Honestly, if they keep playing like this, it's better if they don't make the playoffs because they would get humiliated. If Bones can turn them around, he gets my vote for the best coach currently in the game.
Being half way down for several years before last year. Where is the talent in Cleveland. We have fantelli and marchy, kent johnson is having a down year. We got rid of chinakov one of our faster players. But with kent johnson and the players in Cleveland, how come we are not developing our young players. Is Rick nash just a ceremonial position or do we need better coaching in Cleveland. And whos working with kj and big boss and also matychuck who still gets overmatched at times into bad decisions who's working with these guys to help them unlock their true potential or are they left to find there way.
