People take for granted that Zach Benson is legitimately an all time great defensive player for his age. It’s beyond rare for a guy his age to be this good in his own zone.
He’s so fucking good at both ends of the ice, and for a guy as skilled as he is, he has that innate 4th line heart and hustle. In a redraft of that class I can’t see him going outside the top 5
He’s really cut down on his dumb penalties this season too

Is there something weird going on about the +/- stat this season for Sabres players? I recall Metsa had an insanely good number too. Is that a product of the heater we’ve been on or are these guys legitimately dominating each shift? Just don’t want to see a “regress to the mean” happen later.

I generally don’t put much stock in plus/minus. But that is a hell of a difference.

The fact that he’s only 20 years old is crazy. He’s one of the most physical, high motor players on this team
