It took 2 years too long to fire him and really he was a really bad hire in the first place …. why would Shanahan hire after the damage Treliving did in Calgary …. because Shanahan was maybe the biggest part of the problem in Toronto.
Berube will likely get fired … but really Treliving, for the terrible roster, and the player themselves for lack of effort and competitiveness and not being coachable will be to blame. Honestly, if I was Berube, I would want out ….

If they played like they did last night, they will be a playoff team next year. They need that compete.
Allot is in on the players. Not sure I would let Bérubé go if the right coach isn’t around.

if doug armstrong gets the job then Toronto is toast. Toronto needs a rebuild….it's best they hand the keys to the Hunter boys. Nobody knows more about developement.

They should’ve got rid of him when he made the Carlo deal first and mitten for Brandon. Carlo should’ve been fired right there and then for making that deal and the other deal for Philadelphia deal you should’ve been fired right there and then for those two stupid deals.

Does anyone want to know why it won't matter who they hire??? Because Brad Treliving couldn't possibly have done anything meaningful in 3 years as a GM. Scotty Bowman himself could not have transformed a team in 3 years.
It won't matter because teams owned by corporations don't win. The teams that have won the Cup the past few years all had one thing in common. They had ownership who keep their noses out of the operations of the team. They hire the best people available and then they stay away and they shut up. And after 6 or 8 years THEN the situation can be evaluated.
