Wow… Currently, the whole entire Pacific Division would be out of the playoffs in the east!!
This team is making the post season and will make some noise! This team is absolutely for real!
The Pacific is a joke this year…
Keeping it to the Pens, this team has some big choices to make. Have Mantha and Dewar priced themselves out of Pittsburgh next year? How about Shea? Team has something like 10 UFAs and its hard to justify letting most of them walk with how well this team has played. Also 3 RFAs including Chinakhov who will need paid long term and avoid arbitration contracts.
Also, when Lizzotte returns where does Soderblom slot in if the team is healthy? For his size, he has decent skating, a decent set of hands, and the heart and will to battle for pucks to match his size. Hes also not afraid to be physical whether its laying hits or fighting for his team. Hard to take a younger player showing the promise he is out of the lineup and possibly kill his confidence and mojo. He looks like a totally different player in Pittsburgh than he did in Detroit where he just looked like a guy with size but clumsy.

Im enjoying what Elmer has contributed to this team since he has been in the line up.
As someone who thought this team would be bottom 10 again this year….I'm happy to have been wrong. This team has gotten things going for it. four lines going. its got the it factor
One aspect that makes this team feel different is we’re talking positively about the 4th line. We never felt right about the teams we squeaked in with and were one and done or obviously missed the playoffs with. This one? The depth is unreal. Yea we have some decisions to make in the offseason but those are good problems to have. Especially where I think we can make a whole hell of a lot of noise this post season. And I have to image that’s going to get our old guys excited cause they’re not alone now. Again I’ll say. I’m just excited to go for the ride and see what they do.

If novak continues to shrink away I can see Elmer taking his spot on the 3rd line in the playoffs. His wall battles and control will be beneficial in the playoff atmosphere.
Hey DK, I have been wondering about Soderbloom for a while. I was excited to see what he could do, I am a fan of size. I didn't like seeing Lizotte leave the line up for this to happen as if I was giving out an MVP for the team, it was the entire line four! But Soderbloom can play, he can possess the puck on the boards, and I believe he can finish, he needs to stay. For a moment there I would've said bump him up and Brazeau out, but I think we are seeing the injury bug shaking loose of Justin and he's returning to early season form. One way or another he needs to at least find his way to line 3 with Mantha riding shotgun for Malkin. For this team to win they will need to be big and tough, you can't get bigger than Soderbloom.
DK……..have we seen enough of Girard? I can't say I am impressed with him, would you consider bringing up someone, even seeing if Graves wants to come with his size. Lastly…….props to Stu, the Penguins got a little pourous at times and he came up huge! Now go glip the Lightning!
