Whether he gets the C or not, I’m much happier with a team that takes cues from Brock than I was with a team that took cues from Hughes and Miller.

I’ll never forget in his “Building Brock” featurette his dad saying how Brock would hug and kiss him and say “I love you dad” after every game or practice 😭 then he goes “that is a special kid” 😭😭 He is 🥹😭🥹 so happy for the boys tonight!!

He has the charisma and love of the area, but is he the type to rally the squad and have him follow them through the breach? Seems very very soft spoken, almost diffident.

I can’t think of any other active player in the NHL that played with the Sedins. McCann maybe? Hutton’s still like a bottom liner these days, eh? Oh Marky too.
Anyway. The list is short for such a key piece of our legacy but there’s exactly one still on the team. Always did a great job exemplifying what I felt was the job within the team and community. Man’s been a class act his whole career, decidedly with us.
I kinda want him to be the grizzled vet still kicking around when the next crew comes in. Whether he’s up for that is up to him I think. But I like that idea.

Or maybe we give the C to someone whom has earned it and deserves it. Brock was easily going to leave last year. Nobody gave him the offer he wanted. Has been in multiple trade talks.
Imo we should honestly wait until the beginning of the 27/28 season. Give the roster a full year to see who really steps up and earns it.

3 “A’s” is all we need for at least next season. As much as I am a huge BB fan, he doesn’t need, or should be laden with a “C” for at least a year. Your Vancouver Canucks next Captain may not even be on the roster yet, just sayin’!

What is the rush? Let the team stink it up in the basement for another year. Just play hockey and have fun again. Run a few alternate captains next season and make the decision afterward.
