I’m surprised he didn’t just straight up say he didn’t give a shit and his focus was the team because that would be the expected answer from any coach really. There was a play where Caufield took a shot instead of passing to Dobson. It was an almost guaranteed goal if he passed to Dobson. I love Caufield but karma caught up to him when Suzuki went for the open net although it is kind of better for Caufield’s legacy if doesn’t score the empty net. I think Caufield is on the precipice of playing too selfishly. It would be very hard to blame him though. 50 goals is a big deal. I feel bad for Dobson because that dude has been unselfish all year. He almost never gets PP time.
Having said that, it would be insane if Caufield was to reach 50 with no empty net goals and pretty much all goals scored organically.
This is the difference between us and the leafs with Matthews going all in for his 69 goal record and basically injuring himself long term lol
