honestly, the last week and a half has been so good that i kinda forgot he was still here.

Dont see this on any credible website. Any other source?

  4. Stakataka805

Lmao if we happen to lose the first game he’s back in the lineup this subreddit will never hear the end of it

Well Laine and Danault don’t really have the same role, to put it lightly!

If Laine plays a game to see how he’s doing, it might as well be against the Rangers I guess.

I honestly forget he’s on this team. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. No need to add him to the lineup, especially with his god awful 5v5 play.

Does anyone else have a foreboding sense of doom about tonight’s game. We’ve been so good against good teams lately that I worry about a let down against an ‘easier’ opponent. Not that a loss would be the end of the world, but it’s such an opportunity to challenge for the top of the division. It’s such a treat to be part of a team focusing on the chase rather than on who’s chasing them. Feels like a whole different level of confidence. We haven’t hit our peak yet but already it feels like we could make some real noise in the playoffs with the goaltending, team effort and offensive talent we’re demonstrating.

I want to see him plays again, I think he would be a nice player to add to pp2, maybe the games are too big too put him back on the roster, but against a bottom team like the Rangers, maybe it would be a good test to see how he plays, or maybe they let him play during the remaining games if we clinch the playoffs early?

Laine’s future is clear, but I won’t say I don’t feel bad for the guy… and I’d love to see him score one more, one-timer as a farewell.

When he’s in full form his shot is still better than anyone else in the team and one of the best in the league.

No lie, I’d be excited to see patty in the lineup vs the rangers

  12. If Danault can’t go tonight, MSL will play Montembeault as a F, instead of Laine.

If Montembeault doesn’t want, MSL rather dress 19 players.

If the League doesn’t allow 19 players, MSL will dress himself or play Robidas.

    Laine is option Z.

  13. Dont worry, its more likely that Montembeault is gonna play in 4th than Patrik

The crazy thing is that Patrik Laine still has the 2nd highest cap hit on the team. Only Dobson has a higher cap hit.

I still think Laine is capable of being a good player, but at this point it seems pretty clear that he just doesn’t fit our team’s style of play. We play with too much pace and he doesn’t have the knees for it.

He belongs in a Top 6 role in order to contribute with his best skills, but he doesn’t mesh with our Top 6. They all deserve their spots more than him right now.

He could provide a weapon of a stationary shot to a team’s PP1, but our PP1 runs on puck movement and doesn’t need a stationary shooter with all the weapons on it already.

So 4th line with limited PP2 usage is basically all he can slot in as right now. And you have to question whether it would be better off just having an energy player with defensive upside taking that roster spot.

I really like the guy as a player and human being, so I hope he either finds a way to contribute to our playoff run this year or finds a good home elsewhere where he has less competition at his position. It’s got to be tough for him coming in cold like this when the team is running so hot with high chemistry. If he gets to play again at the Bell Centre, I hope the fans show him some love and encouragement. Maybe the positive energy around the team will be good for him.

I want him to get a shot and show what he can do, mainly so he feels like he was given his opportunity. He’s definitely not re-signing here, so there’s no harm to us or to him in letting him prove to other teams that he’s still capable of filling a role.
