| Réel Kyper & Bourne | 2 avril 2026 #LNH #Hockey #Podcast #Leafs

  1. In my opinion
If the Leafs try to compete/retool for next year, it's for strictly business reasons!!!

  2. Really love your show boys and appreciate your takes on all things with the Maple Leafs. I look forward to Off the Rails Friday or in this case Off the Rails Thursday with Doug Maclean…always entertaining! Keep up the great work! 😁👍

  3. We must tank and get a top 5 lottery pick! Rest our top players like Florida is doing, let some prospects from the Marlies play out the rest of the season!

Just imagine if we landed one of these top 5 players in the 2026 draft!

#1 Gavin McKenna (LW): Considered a potential superstar, known for high-volume scoring and transitioning to NCAA hockey successfully.

#2 Ivar Stenberg (LW/RW): A skilled Swedish forward playing for Frölunda (SHL).

#3 Keaton Verhoeff (RD): A big, high-potential defenseman playing at the University of North Dakota.

#4 Chase Reid (RD): Frequently listed as a top-three prospect alongside McKenna and Verhoeff.

#5 Tynan Lawrence (C): A forward prospect with collegiate experience at Boston University.

  4. That Domi quote really rubs me wrong… they honestly have no clue why the fans are pissed off. Fandom is based on shared success and shared trauma from failures. All the failures over the last 10 years feel like theyve been for the fans alone. Now they openly resent the fans. Kick rocks Max.

  5. I guess that brains were not a priority in the Tkaczuk household…just look at the example provided by pops! From the sounds of it, they all belong in Florida.

  6. The window has closed imo. Our time was when we were a run and gun offensive powerhouse. We had young fresh injury free talent in Matthews, Marner, Nylander, a prime Tavares, Rielly on the point, Knies coming into his own, those last 4-5 years, including our last year with Marner where we took the Panthers to 7 and had a 2-0 and 3-1 series lead but choked was the last shot with this group.

Matthews is going to be 29 this coming season and has been riddled with injuries the last couple years and now his knee, Tavares will be 35, Nylander will be 30, Riley will be 32…a decent retool will take 3-4 years and will put all these guys in their mid to late 30s.

I guess you could look at Pittsburgh as the only template that has pulled this off successfully — kept aging stars and traded others for prospects and picks, missing the playoffs for a couple years but now competitive this season. But there are so many different variables…sigh…

  7. Bruins is Competitive this year. So "Best Case" scenario, with good Goaltending / Defense (Tanev back will help), that's where Leafs maybe next year.

  8. Let's be honest. It is still over a cup of coffee. They just told their friend to make a report to,

  9. Guys… guys… I get it. A few more pieces to push us back into the playoff hunt sure… makes complete sense..but this is the Leafs and nothing makes sense. You need motivated players that are not motivated by money. Unfortunately, the players that we will be "building around" are selfish and unmotivated by anything other than money. There's no heart, no grind, no love of the game for the core that's left. I have a feeling we will be in a rebuild foreshadowed by a retool name. Call it what you will.. it'll be a rebuild. I give us another 5yrs before we hit the playoffs again. There is no comparison to Salming. Where Salming had more heart than the whole team. Comfortable? Toronto pays the best..no team will pay Willy what Toronto pays for him.

  10. no Justin, it cannot be a GOOD team with Rielly and Carlo on the back end. Do you really think Schwartz and Coyle are better than McMann and Laughton?? Raddysch is a having a career year in a contract year.

  11. WW Wanker OUT. Could it not be more obvious? He is a world class JERK (and a wanker). How Berube can put up with that sh&t is beyond me. He is TOXIC

  12. Pelley calls it a retool to calm the waters man with #34 & 88. Common sense they are rebuilding. They have nobody. They never won with these guys bc they aren't generational players. Great players. Not superstars. If they trade Knies and if a team wants to give up alot for him then maybe they can turn it around. Can't expect the moon for Knies. It won't be enough. Bourne is getting paid for his opinion. Nuts. This team is not good at all.

  13. Its amazing how deep is Doug' s admiration and belief on Keith Pelly. He is his pal….but that does not mean that he is the best option for Leafs President of Hockey Ops.

    Anyone would be better.

The owners in MSLE should start firing Pelly first.

That' s the only new start from ' scratch' for Leafs that could work. In the long run.

Hopefully they fire him after the next season after Leafs again is out if play offs.

  14. Doug had exactly the same presentation already in another, better poadcast. He repeats himself. First signs of dementia?

  15. Hearing Berube say the foundational players need support is so frustrating. How many times have the Leafs loaded up for a playoff run with dozens and dozens of different player combinations? THE PROBLEM IS THE FOUNDATIONAL PLAYERS!

  16. If the foundational players refused to buy into Berube's system… I want them all traded. Berube taught the Leafs how to play a style that wins playoff games. Leafs were the only team to take Florida to a Game 7 last year. Before Berube… the Leafs played fancy flashy hockey all season long and then got smoked in the playoffs because that flashyness doesnt work in the playoffs. So when they had to adjust their style… they didnt play that style very well because they weren't used to it. Berube taught them to play that style 24/7.

  17. Justin the one thing you are ot taking into consideration the other teams in the division. The best they can hope for is to make a WC place if the Metro division falls apart

  18. This team has been in disarray the entire season. Maybe they really weren’t that together internally last year despite their numbers. Tweaking won’t do anything. Dubas and Shanahan were a bigger disaster than they thought because they’ve got zero prospects for the next 2-3 seasons and they fostered a culture of praise/big bucks for mediocrity of character around the only 4 players they said mattered.

  19. Dougie Mac!! Wow. John Wensink. He was a big bag Bruin. I remember when he challenged the entire Minnesota North Stars bench.

  20. Keith was always thee complete meathead and I will watch any of the Tkatchuks get run over or beaten on replay for an hour. How anyone could listen to a podcast from them beggars my mind. They’re both morons for doing it while still playing

  21. The Leaf can not and will not compete next season or the one following , not without a bona fide number one defenseman. Pelley along with anyone else is off their rocker if they think this train wreck is a quick fix. Especially when their prospect well is all but dry. Maybe the 2030s will be kind to the Leafs.

  22. I live in West Michigan and have seen him play many times. Tynan Lawrence is going to be ELITE in the league within 2 years. Mark my words.

  23. As long as Matthews and Willie are willing to waive they absolutely 100% have to trade both
Mathews only has 2 o years left and it's unlikely he's going to sign in another extension. The Leafs already lost Mariner and got almost nothing in return they can't let the same happen with Matthews

  24. Remember one thing guys the reason Ballard loved Borje Salming is because borje kept his mouth shut and put up with all of Ballard's BS while Sittler did not

  25. Minten is having a very comparable season to Patrice Bergeron in his rookie year. Maybe Boston would be willing to trade him back for Toronto's 2027 and 2028 1st round draft picks and another prospect.🤣

  26. If they re-tool….they need Mathews to perform for a change and not be injured, and Nylander to play better defensively. Find a way to move off Reilly. Then add a few decent players. The year after, further tweak when you have some resources

  27. I am in recovery; Tiger Woods needs to get into recovery. Otherwise, he will end up in jail (which could save some innocent victims' lives) or dead. He gets all the breaks because he can afford the best lawyers (I am also a lawyer). Right now, Tiger Woods is a menace to society. One way or another, he needs to be stopped before something truly terrible happens. I pray Tiger gets sober soon.

  28. I have a suggestion for the Real Kyper and Bourne Show, along with SAMMYYYY!MCKEEEEEE! Anytime one of you's have a Birthday, you should play the song BIRTHDAY by The Beatles! Just food for thought!! We Love ❤️ your show, keep up the great work as always!! Awesome Boys!Including "MAC!" 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 🇨🇦🍁⚾️🏒🥅👍👍

  29. For Pelley to drone on about analytics, TFC and retool, shows he is not the right guy for the job. Back to broadcasting son!
