Seems to be pretty successful so far. We’ll see this off season if we can attract any free agents or whatever
Kent Hughes’ first press conference: https://youtu.be/da_BryfEdmk?si=uTArJaC8-TfiUd5m
Its crazy how we went from mid and aging with Weber and price to being stacked with young talent and phenomenal management within 5 years lol. Im pretty young but ive never seen a turnaround like this before.
Detroit
Ottawa
Chicago
Utah/arizona
Sharks
All started their rebuild before ours and our team rebuild in like half the time 😂
Getting to the hump is nice. Super efficient getting there. Getting over the hump is the harder part
He did exactly that. If you look at the strategy coldly it’s probably the best way to get an edge over the competition.
Convince your players to accept a lower salary. So you can afford more good players under the cap. As easy as that.
That’s the agent mentality one big step ahead of other GMs.

True
Barely 4 years later he’s built a contending team. The dude works fast
I wonder what the interest towards the team looks like in the medias / city. Multiples people around me who never cared about Hockey started to watch some games / follow their successes in the past couples of years.
Crazy what a rebuild can do over wanting to finish average for 20 years.
Been drinking KH cool-aid since the day they drafted Slaf!!! Our Lord Savior!!!
Jeff Gorton
Kent Hughes
Martin St Louis
Seriously best sequence of hires this organization has had for literal decades.
And they did!
He has to be a finalist for GM of the year. Talk about a masterclass

I know we are just in the beginning of the turn around, but I will be damned if he hasn’t already done that.
70’s vibes where that was the place to be & where players wanted to go
I want to see KH grow a goatee for his impending villain (from other teams’ POV) arc.
He was right
Quinn, Jack and Luke are all fine, but we got the best Hughes brother.
That’s my GM.
IIRC Nick promised that we would make the playoffs earlier than the final game this season as part of the progression💪
Really curious if we’ll nab a high profile UFA in the future. Obviously, that’s very dependant on the player themselves, and if they want to play in a big market. I’d imagine we have much better chances going forward than we’ve ever had in the past 30 years.
While I like the direction and I am very pleased with the rebuild, this core still have not won a single playoff round.
I don’t doubt they will get there, but until then, they have not accomplished anything substantial as a team.
I think it’s clear that we are now expected to be perennial regular season wagons who should finish at or near the top of the division.
Remains to be seen if this version of the Habs will be closer to Tampa/Colorado or Toronto/Carolina in the playoffs

And at this moment…..he knew he didn’t fucked up
‘22 >>> 13….13 cups ? I will die a happy man
Best GM in the league.
