Watching him quit on board battles against guys 4 inches shorter was when I wanted him gone. He legitimately is a negative for this team but he’s paid 3rd liner salary.

In the 2017 draft I said I would be happy with anyone but Rasmussen. I was disappointed but I wanted him to me the best he could be because he was a wing now. To be fair my top choice was vilardi, who hasn’t been the most healthy and necas who i called « one dimensional ». So ive been wrong a lot in that draft. I still wouldn’t have picked ras but you know, I dont know anything either

This perfectly illustrates a key issue with Rasmussen’s game: he cannot *think* the game fast enough. Ras cannot process the NHL game at a pace that allows him to succeed in his role, or any role for that matter.
He watches plays unfold, freezes, *then* reacts. He cannot process the game quickly enough to be effective. He has a good tool kit, he’s not horrendous in many categories, but he *is* categorically horrendous in his ability to effectively process the game in a timely manner.
The result? He does nothing. Like we see here. We also watch him get bullied off the puck often, too. A player will check him, his body language seems to indicate bewilderment, and then boom, he’s off the puck before he can even react to the check.
Classic fucking clock killer man… At the very least, if you can’t score at least fight, or something. *Anything*.
